Just wondering, is anyone still waiting for initial replies?
Also for those who were accepted in the second wave, when is your reply deadline???
Thanks!
Hey guys, I just joined college confidential since I will be attempting to transfer schools in the 2020 cycle. Vanderbilt has been one of my top choices and I believe my stats fare well in the applicant pool. However, I don’t think my reason may be compelling enough. I currently go to a large state school where I am a rising sophomore major in biology/pre-med; and I decided that I want to do a triple minor in addition with two of those being in the humanities field. My school has a really weak humanities program and does not have any of the minors I want to complete and so these restrictions along with the unsuitable campus social life has led me to look elsewhere. Looking at these threads however, it seems that most people wanting to transfer do so because they don’t have their desired major at their current school. To those of you who have just been through the cycle, do you think my reason to transfer is too shallow and weak? Thanks.
Why would you triple minor? Just take the classes you’re interested in as electives outside your major. Nobody cares about minors in the real world
Any people still waiting on decision or got off the waitlist?
@thestandard I agree minoring is useless on the resume, but I am interested in doing so to try to acquire a somewhat wholesome knowledge in those fields. Even if I chose to take only electives, my school literally has no courses in those areas while many other schools do.
@kcasssuu i am
did any waitlist hear back today? (notification for continued interest?)
any more waves lately?
Good call !
any waitlists heard back yet?
I just wanted to add this for next year’s applicants. Especially those unsure about chances as it’s obviously a stressful process.
Accepted first wave from a great liberal arts school in NY, 3.6 gpa, received leadership awards and had awesome extracurriculars. (I think my extracurriculars were my biggest strength) I had good reason for transfer and was super active on campus! Lower gpa also due to serious illness which became part of my journey. So I think it is holistic and things work out as they’re supposed to!
any news on the waitlist?
Got Bill for fall term but there was no meal plan charge. Did any other transfer student have that happen?
Yeah, I have also not been billed for the meal plan. Have you figured out why we haven’t?
Called Dining services and it got added. Not to actual ebill but to the charges under Activity
Hello, other transfers! I still haven’t received my financial package even though I submitted all my documents a long time ago (like two months ago). I obviously called them like five times, but the person always just tell me to wait a little more… Did everyone receive their financial aid packages?
