@HarmanB those are solid scores. I would not wait for your school to send your grades to VANDY, instead just email your counselor now, if you have them. Just get a screenshot of your grades- you can’t afford to waste time- because valuable time is passing. But only send those grades if they are ALL A’s or maybe on B+ in there. Make sure it is a friendly and happy note and include anything good you have done since filing that application!
@Transferohno I agree. I think they definitely didn’t want this to happen. My problem is that as a housing shortage arose, rather than make cuts all around, they instead chose to just deny every transfer’s ability to live on campus. They let transfer’s take the hit. That attitude does not bode well for how the rest of the administration feels about transfers. At least that’s my worry. I know a lot of people won’t feel the same in this thread, but I am in a unique situation where off-campus housing directly impedes my goals. I applied to Vanderbilt knowing that there was unique policy of guaranteed housing.
@scaevola19 The thing is, it would have been almost impossible for Vandy to tell a returning student you can’t come back and live in a dorm. Parents would have hit the roof! And frosh are just guaranteed housing at every school. The thing is though they are so intent on housing everyone that they are renting buildings out nearby and I guess just didn’t care to do that again. Do you have any other schools you were accepted to? If it’s any consolation the dorms for transfers are absolute SHI* at Vandy. Ironically, they demolished their 60 year-old transfer(also housed others) building just last year, so now they have nothing!
Accepted !!!
@eeaadd22 I can’t pm for whatever reason, can you email me at mecvolunteers@gmail.com by chance so I can join?
@Transferohno I guess maybe they didn’t have foresight of a housing shortage. I would’ve thought they would know about a loss of space, due to construction, well in advance. I have been accepted elsewhere, but they will not guarantee housing too. I’ll have to think about my options, but hopefully I can find some workable living arrangements that don’t hinder me too much.

They definitely planned for the shortage, but they did not plan on COVID-19! Nobody did. So, I can not blame them for that. For example, they definitely would have not demolished their old building if they knew this was coming, But their housing office is miserable. I am sure of that! NONETHELESS, they have to help you somehow. Just contact them right away by phone. I am sure there will be some liaison for this housing dilemma for transfers.

Are the following waves going to be rejections do you guys think? I am a little sad
not all rejections ! there will definitely be more acceptances, but it is true the most come in the first wave.
I didn’t get any updates. What does that mean?
So although we are not living on campus, are we still going to be in Vandy housing just somewhere else or do we need to find our own apartments?
@eeaadd22 could you try posting the link with a space or something?? I can’t pm either
Hey whats good guys, I didn’t even know this thread existed till today. Just got into CAS for Econ
Accepted btw! Vandy is my top choice so I’ll be attending in the fall! Also, I was accepted to Northwestern, UVA, and Emory and rejected by Duke.
Is anyone accepted to the school of Engineering?
Accepted to CAS! Vandy was my number one choice so I’m so so excited! I can’t wait to meet other transfer students for the fall
@eeaadd22 im not being able to private message, but id like to be added to the group me !
I did not hear back so I did some research based on last years forum… the second wave happened nearly 3 weeks after the first, but the difference is that last years first wave was released in mid to late April. The second wave seemed to be spread out throughout the week so Im not sure what will happen this year. The first wave took forever so I would expect second wave to happen on any random day between tomorrow and two weeks after. What worries me is that the second wave had tons of rejections and waitlisted students with only a few acceptances. But stats for Vanderbilt especially can’t guarantee anything as they look at the whole picture. Also heard it is super difficult to get off the waitlist. On a more personal note, Vandy is my last hope so ?.
Congrats on everyone that got an acceptance ??
