Has any admitted student been told when the deadline is for accepting our financial aid? Or do we even have to accept it? I have no idea, even though I've seriously scrutinized my online award page, searching for a button for accepting or declining it; I am only asking because my twin brother has to press the accept button "umpteen" times on his Tulane financial aid award page. I'm actually pretty sure that just mailing in our matriculation deposit is enough to accept our offers, but I really just want to be sure. Also, has anyone given any thought to registering for classes or gotten in contact with their academic advisers? I've received the Road to Vanderbilt booklet, but it only gives me a little info on registering for classes; basically, I'm in the dark here and would greatly appreciated any info from any admitted students. Thanks!

Last year at least, the package is accepted by default. If there is any part that you don’t want to accept (like work study or something), you check them off on the physical finaid offer you received in the mail and sign/send it back to the University. There are directions on that paper.

We only send them back the financial aid to Vanderbilt in the mail if we want to decline or accept lesser amounts of aid (such as loans), otherwise they assume we’ll take what they offer us. I haven’t gotten that booklet yet so I’m not sure about registering either yet, sorry.

Alright. Greatly appreciate the info.

As soon as you have your VU id, you should be able to log into the enrollment system and look at all the classes and plan your schedule (http://yes.vanderbilt.edu/schedule). You won’t actually enroll for a while though. You can use the course catalog to find out what classes are required for your intended major. Some majors have a recommended timeline for courses which I believe will come in the mail. If not, just look around on the department’s website. You’ll also get something in the mail about AXLE requirements (if you are in A&S) and a listing of every class that satisfies AXLE requirements.

Even better. I’ve already logged in and browsed the class catalog, but I’ve just been hesitant to press anything without my adviser’s approval. Thanks for the info

I don’t think you need any adviser approval when you enroll for the first semester. For every following semester though, you’re required to meet with your adviser before enrolling.

Good luck with enrollment, it’s always a thrilling/terrifying experience.
