What is a typical ACT score that can get you accepted into Vanderbilt (obviously high grades and AP classes as well)
Thanks!
What did it show on the Common Data Set?
Vanderbilt is test optional, and they do accept students who do not submit scores. My dd is a sophomore there, admitted RD without scores.
How were their grade and their ECs, though?
UW GPA was 3.7-3.8. She took 8 AP courses, and did well on AP tests. She had leadership in EC’s (dance, theater and music), very solid essays and recommendations. No sports, no hook.
so sorry but can you tell me where to find it on the common data set? thanks!
Click the link
At the top of the linked page, click on “Section”. When the menu drops down, click on “C. First Time, First Tear Admission”.
The information you want is in Section C9.
It’s 25/75 was 34/35 with 57% submitting a test. I do think it will be higher going forward as tests are more readily avail.
Below a 34, you likely shouldn’t submit unless you’re a first gen, URM, rural state, etc. and then likely not under a 33 and it might be a risk.
Best of luck.
Thank you so much!
You’re welcome. There’s a lot of great information in the common data set but it can be a bear to find it until you’ve become familiar with the lay out of that document. Glad I could help.
