Oh boy… Rudeness implies complex syntax, I haven’t gone that deep into the grammar yet, though I do believe it involves differential equations, so screw that!
Thank you for trying, @gottagetbetter01 .

Does anybody know what benefit there is on enrolling early rather than later?
To Vanderbilt? None that I know of…Housing is not due until June 1…
Does anybody know when VUnet IDs will go out? I put my deposit down last night
Does anyone know if there is specific housing for transfer students?
@luckybaby No, I’m from Virginia. I’m a political science and history double major.
Edit: @limitsbylaw I read somewhere that you’ll get it within two weeks of putting down the deposit.
Looks like no decisions today…
Nothing over here either …
How regularly have decisions been released? Or was yesterday the first batch of decisions?
@Aeroastro14 Yesterday was the first batch
prob friday or idk
there is literally nothing worse than waiting. nothing.
Why the heck is Vandy’s enrollment deadline so early : / May 2nd is way too early cause I actually wanted to visit Nashville before I decide.
@Mastodon97 You can ask for an extension I believe
I thought May 2nd was only a deposit to secure ur spot?
@inordie Yeah thats what I meant
Guys, do you think its wrong to deposit money to secure a spot, but then maybe go to a different college? I know its not illegal or anything, I’d just feel bad about it…
@Mastodon97 that’s like veryyyyy frowned upon.
@Mastodon97 it’s up to you. the colleges don’t care because they get money from you. it’s non refundable. The only moral dilemma is if you feel like you are taking a spot you might not want away from somebody else. But i would argue that isn’t really the case since they have a buffer for yield that makes it so you accepting or not accepting the spot probably won’t affect anyone else’s decision. Also, if there’s a strong chance you might go to Vandy i say secure the spot if you don’t mind potentially losing the deposit
To put deposits down at two schools simultaneously is frowned upon. The deposit exists for a reason.
With that said, the nature of competitive college transfer admissions is that it is necessary to put a deposit down on a school before all decisions are in, as many schools do not release their transfer decisions until early to mid May, while many others still use the May 1st enrollment deposit deadline.
To use myself as an example, I will probably be putting down a $300 deposit at Michigan, and continuing forward as if I am headed to Michigan if I’m not in the second wave of decisions at Vanderbilt. If I was then to receive an acceptance at a school like Vanderbilt, or Columbia, or Stanford, I would immediately inform Michigan I would not be attending, and make a new deposit for the school I would be attending.
So, to answer your question @Mastodon97 if you are doing so with ill intentions, or because you can’t decide, then it’s unethical and I would urge against it. But if it is because you don’t have all your options yet, then that’s perfectly acceptable, and schools know and expect that kind of thing to happen. Just don’t expect to get your money back. Nonrefundable is nonrefundable.
