They’re both great schools. At that level of closeness I wouldn’t worry too much over prestige and a lot more about affordability
Ok guys… So I got the full-ride to my safety school. I have to decline the offer by April 15th, or accept it and pay my deposit by May 1st. Decisions aren’t even out yet for Vandy. I’m really hoping my decision comes April 10th, or I might just get cheated out of a chance.
@sixone I would definitely not give up a full ride at the college, so you may need to accept their offer and hold off with the deposit as much as possible.
If you get positive news from Vanderbilt, then communicate it to the college in question. It’s generally not good practice but you don’t have much breathing space here, I hope they understand.
Do you guys know how seriously Vandy is gonna take a couple grammatical errors on the essays? I unfortunately found some and its been freaking me out
Relax friend, there’s not much you can do about it. Also their site says that the content matters more than how well off your grammer is. Work on a hobby till’ decision day
@Mastodon97 I refrain from looking at my essays to prevent that from happening hahaha
If the mistakes aren’t too serious (ex. extra articles, extra letters, two words with no space in between) then I wouldn’t stress out.
I know for a fact that there was a typo on mine too. “Strengths and weakness” (weakness not being in plural).
Of course I only realize this after it’s been sent to ALL the colleges I’ve applied to :))
@AGoodFloridian Mine isn’t really punctuations, I found a couple of sentences that should have been contracted together
First line of mine says “each others’”, when it obviously should say “each other’s”.
I’m sensing a theme among us. LOL
re-reading my essays like, “damn this is kinda weak” even though i slaved over them for hours and at the time i thought they sounded good
@somehmonggirl Literally what’s happening to me right now lol
LOLOL
I re-read my application to join in the fun. There are parts that made me cringe, but I left it saying, “I don’t hate it.” :-??
@mjr2013 I think we are all doing this lol. I think that we worry way too much about small things like this, it must be part of the post-application anxiety.
So is it accurate to say that most people who get notified the first wave (whether it’s this Friday or next Monday) are gonna be accepted? I want to know so that I don’t have a heart attack when I see an email notification pop up on my phone during class lol.
Say they do put up decisions on the portal for some people this Friday; at around what time would they do that?
I don’t know if there was a specific time for portal updates… also based on CC many people first wave got accepted but like I said CC is definitely not indicative of the entire applicant pool
Why do people seem to think decisions are coming out friday?
@watermychances pure speculation based on the dates and days of the week that decisions have came out in the last two years
what times did the results come out last year
Look in the old thread to double check if you want, but I’m pretty sure that there was no specific time. Simply portals updated some time on Friday and emails sent to those people some time on the following Monday
