Vanderbilt Transfer Thread [Fall 2017]

Also: they could do it totally differently this year. who knows?

Yea, I would be a little less sure they will come out Friday. Even if there doing it same way it could be next Friday, not this one.

When people say their portals update on Friday, does that mean they have the ability to view their decision?

yes, but in the even that they do it will only be one waive

Gotcha, thanks!

I know that test scores are unusually important for Vandy transfers (more so for sophomore applicants), but how important is it for junior transfers?

If you don’t have a 1590/1600 or higher I think your chances are slim

@HopefullyIGetIn Uuhhh, you’re talking about out of the 2400 scale, right?

@Mastodon97 Are they though? I always thought Vanderbilt was more forgiving when it came to test scores for transfers (unlike freshmen). Lots of transfer students with 28-31 ACT’s got in last year despite the freshmen range being around 32/33-35. I would think it’s even more so the case with juniors. After two years I’d think your college GPA is weighted even more.

no I’m being sarcastic. I think talking about chance related stuff is great when people are thinking about what colleges to apply to. Not in april when we are waiting for decisions. I don’t want to provide you with a false reason to be hopeful or pessimistic. chance related stuff is a waste of time now when we will know out fate soon enough.

@HopefullyIGetIn Wasn’t really asking for a chance me, was just wondering the importance of the scores in the process.

hence why I said chance related stuff.

@newtmon Well, they are the only school that I know of (a top ranked one anyways), that requires test scores even for junior applicants (like me). You could be right though, and in fact your’s sounds more plausible.

Graduate school decisions already came out. I thought they were supposed to come out after transfer decisions.

grad and undergrad have totally different admissions offices

I hope they weigh GPA heavier than test scores… I got a 26 on my ACT. The proctor let people talk the entire test! – threw me off big time! I reported it to ACT, but they didn’t do anything about it.

I have a feeling that decisions will come out tmr.

Tbh we would all make great meteorologists with the amount of predicting and analyzing we do haha xD

I’ve never been wrong with my feelz. I think I’ll be that one person who’s stat is SO bad that he gets rejected first wave lollll

@inordie Oh stop it hahahah, there were plenty of surprised people in last year’s thread. If anything, you’ll be the one posting “I never thought I’d get in, but I did!”. Mark my words

@VaishS I’m already rethinking my major tbh.
