Good luck to you guys! I just realized my high school have not sent in their transcript and so my application is not technically “complete.” Still hoping there’s a chance for me.
They can’t start reviewing your application until it’s complete. That doesn’t mean you won’t get in! Just means that you won’t be able to be given a decision until they get it… so get on it!
And if I got a decision tomorrow I would cry w happiness. Even if it’s a rejection i’ll be glad just to know for sure what I’m doing next year…
(BUT I HOPE ITS AN ACCEPTANCE)
hahaha thanks @somehmonggirl ! I remember reading your posts from last year when you applied; I hope you get in this time around!
Are there many people get admitted in the first wave?
@luckybaby Yeah most of the people who actually got in seemed to be within first/second wave. And people who got rejected/waitlisted got their decisions weeks later.
@inordie Well, I think we decided that CC is not a good indicator because it represents a very small number of transfer apps to Vandy. I think over 400 get accepted every year out of more than 1000, and I’d say there’s what…30-40 people on this thread?
@somethingscript Does your MyAppVU say complete? An admissions officer told me last week that they’re still reviewing new applications, so you should be fine!
Thank you! @inordie I find there are only a few people applying to School of Engineering. Would it be later to receive decision than A&S applicants?
@luckybaby Well, I think what matters the most is your counselor. If your counselor made decisions faster, you’d most likely be in the earlier wave. Plus, I am applying for school of engineering. So I sure do hope I get a decision sooner whether it’s rejection or acceptance. I’m super nervous for tmr lol
@inordie One counselor doesn’t make a unilateral decision on your app. I think there is a panel of multiple (maybe all of the admissions counselors) counselors who collectively decide on each and every app.
Best luck to you. I applied for Computer Science in School of Engineering. Hope we could both be in. @inordie
@luckybaby Wow, I’m applying for Computer Science too xD. Guess we will be competitors ey
@watermychances Yeah that’s what I thought so. It would be pretty biased if one person dictated the faith of many applicants
What are the chances the decisions come out midnight lol?
Perhaps we would become classmates this fall! @inordie By the way, how many applicants does CS usually admit each year?
@Mastodon97 I’d say 1% xD. It’s more likely that you’d wake up at like 8am with an email ready to ruin/make your day.
@luckybaby I am not sure about that, but I know that engineering acceptance tends to be higher than that of A&S by a slight margin.
if there are emails out i doubt it would be early in the day. likely in the afternoon or evening, it seems that’s the time of day they usually send them. for reference my email from last year is time stamped to have been received at 1:32 PM CST
