Hmm I’m not too sure, because there was one guy who applied for civil engineering and he got his result in like April 6th or something.
That’s alright. At least we are most likely to get the decisions before May.
I think there will be at least 200 ppl applying for engineering this year… If anyone finds an exact stat for that lmk
According to past threads, it seemed that about 100 would be admitted.
However, I am not sure how many ppl applied.
200 people applying for engineering? that is a lot of people. I really hope I get one of those spots. If anyone finds any more data regarding engineering, please let me know I am very interested
@watermychances Congratulations on your acceptance to Wake! It’s a good omen.
@pearmetty Assuming the percent of engineering transfer applicants is similar to the percent of first year applicants to engineering (a big assumption), there should be around 300 applicants out of 1400 transfer applicants total.
@newtmon And how many got in?
@inordie No clue. But I’m pretty sure the Engineering accept rate is possibly lower than A&S for transfers. If it’s similar than that’s like 100 acceptances so not too bad.
i think i’m gonna get my mid term report filled but i don’t know how i’ll submit it, since my counselor hasn’t ever responded to my emails and i still have an email that i sent the admissions office that they still haven’t responded to yet. i’ll probably email it to the admissions office then call them and confirm they got it and my extra letter of rec that my prof sent way before the march deadline via email …
@somehmonggirl How come you are sending the mid-term report now?
@Mastodon97 because they are taking longer than I thought for sending out decisions, and i have a 4.0 this semester so far which might help them see my upward trend from freshman vs sophomore year, plus i low key want to see if my teachers write something nice about me lol!
@somehmonggirl Oh, if you have a 4.0 then it definitely wouldn’t hurt you to send it, I actually have the opposite situation where in the past I’ve had 4.0 quarters consecutively until the quarter I just finished with a 3.70 Thank God Vandy doesn’t require mid-term reports lol.
hey does anyone have low scores and is applying? I am at a top 30 us college news university and it is pretty prestigious. I got really bad grades first semester but have had high gpa the following…I also have very low test scores…Do you think it is possible for me to get into vandy?
its hard to tell unless you are a bit more specific about school/gpa/scores @financeguyjames
@financeguyjames It depends what you mean by really bad grades. Vanderbilt says competitive applicants have roughly a 3.5 gpa (I think that might be the bottom 25% of admits honestly). Most people here have 3.6+ and some of us feel underqualified. Imo, college grades are the most important part of the transfer picture followed closely by Essays and ECs and it seems like every resource backs that idea up. Where you go to school is important, your high school grades and SAT/ACT are not as important as your college grades. Your college grades show directly how well you have done and how much you can achieve at a setting similar to Vanderbilt’s. If you can’t cut it in college, why should they take it on your word that you will perform better in the future when your track record of success is in the past and in a vastly different and easier setting (H.S). I’m sure you are overworrying about one slightly bad quarter if you already go to a competitive top 30 school. Good luck.
well I haven’t seen anyone with less than 3.5 gpa so far in the any of the past/present forums…
@inordie Lol CC represents the most overqualified people almost always out of the applicant pool for any particular school, this is hardly a place to accurately gauge the average transfer profile of an accepted applicant.
Again I think that’s a little bit to overoptimistic. IF CC is so overqualified, then surely nobody on these forums should get rejected. On the contrary, I have seen several CC members get rejected in previous forums. Nonetheless, I will agree that the reject rate is less then the applicant pool overall, and thus, it can be said that CC members, on average, have slightly better stats then overall applicant pool. But to just act like everybody on CC is overqualified is very ignorant and misguided.
