Sounds like some of us will begin hearing by mail Tuesday. The following info from the transfers threads for the last few years might be of interest:

Offers and responses were sent earlier in the past: as much as 10 days sooner in 2009 and 4-6 days earlier last year.

It seems that some colleges have sent the offers and wait list letters earlier than others.

You have approximately two weeks to accept an offer.

Admissions is done on a rolling basis. Many of the wait listed students get an acceptance letter after others decline, sometimes in as little as 4-10 days.

Vandy accepts 30-40% of applicants. Assuming 1,000 applicants, 350 or so would receive acceptance letters for 200-225 spots.

Most of the accepted students are rising sophomores.

In addition to a wait list response, Vandy occasionally issues a spring grade request (SGR). This is difficult for those for complete their freshman year in June.

Best trend of all: a higher percentage of College Confidential members seem to get in!

Best of luck to everyone. Vandy is the only school I would transfer to. I hope that you all get our wish fulfilled.

Well, that just doesn’t sit well with me. I’m a rising junior. :/

Yeah my heart sank after I read that as well, 2013. Rest assured, it will all work out. Hang in there, buddy.

I would think that most transfers are rising juniors.

I mean, it makes sense that they’d prefer sophomores, since they spend 3 years there.

And thanks @godric.

So they are sending out letters Monday? Do we know that for certain?

I hope. I won’t it til Thursday anyway though. I live so far away.

It may just be that most of the applicants are rising sophomores, and thus, those applicants would make up the majority of the accepted students.

yeah i live in new york so it will take awhile for me too

@SMH1190 that sounds about right

@smh, let’s hope so!

i know this is off topic but are any of you guys applying to wake forest? and if so, has anyone heard yet?

“The majority of transfer applicants have sophomore status” meaning most people are rising juniors

“The majority of transfer applicants have sophomore status. This year, 65.3 percent of transfer applicants were of sophomore standing, followed by 16 percent freshman, 12.7 percent juniors and 6 percent seniors.”

I think sophomore status/standing means they are entering as sophomores? Because otherwise, why would there be a senior status/standing? That’s weird tho, I thought most students transferred after their sophomore year, not after their freshmen year. If that’s the case, then only 12.7% will be incoming juniors. YIKES.

edit: Oh wait a minute. That’s applicants, not accepted… right? And that was for last year. Could be different this year.

I think that is saying that 65% of applicants were in their sophomore year when applying, 16% were in their freshman year, etc. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

yeah @SMH is right. “sophomore status” means rising junior. meaning those who apply with sophomore status would enter vandy as juniors.

@SMH is right because you can’t have people applying for senior status for the upcoming academic year. They currently have senior status, and they are applying to vanderbilt. I think vandy has the 2 year residency thing, so the seniors that are applying still need 2 more years. That is how I interpreted it. And, that is why I am more worried, since someone said earlier that the trend seemed to be that the people who were accepted were accepted for sophomore standing…
