Oh okay great! Good info to have! Again, congrats!

Some people got regular-sized envelopes, others large envelopes. Weird.

It seems like those who received letters are located in the southern region. I don’t see why else I haven’t received my letter yet, figuring I submitted my application on January 19th.

Still nothing… kind of tempted to just ask my counselor for the decision via phone…

So some people did get small envelopes? I bet those of us who do not live in the south will be hearing tomorrow and Saturday.

classof2013 - You should call. If the counselor offered to give your decision over the phone, you’re probably in. I’d like to think they would tell you to wait if you were wait-listed/rejected/SGR.

I guess, but there still is a chance I get a “you have been rejected” reply.

I’m so nervous…

@sarah - me too! Out of all the schools I applied to, Vandy has the highest acceptance rate. If I don’t get into Vandy, I basically have no hope for the other schools…

I hope I get my letter tomorrow. I don’t think my chances are good anymore. I got rejected from Richmond today which I thought was my safety…guess not. It’s essentially vandy or back to nyu for me :(

I got into Chapel Hill and Im waiting on Vandy, USC, and Barnard but Vanderbilt is my dream school and I really have my heart set on it… I hope we all get good news tomorrow. UGH…

I think I’m going to call tomorrow to check the status of my application. My counselor has been out of the office for two weeks now, so that makes it seem likely that none of my things have been reviewed if the committee meetings just recently started. Hopefully I can get some kind of time frame for when a decision is made. I’m the type of person that likes to have things planned out, so all the uncertainty is making me a little bit fidgety lol

I know what you mean, Sarah. I’d love to go to Vandy and it’s been on my mind all the time. Even though a rejection would be heartbreaking, I’d rather know now if it’s not going to work rather than waiting two or three weeks for the bad news. Just gotta stay positive no matter how long it takes.

@SMH yeah we all have to stay positive. It is hard though!

It’s just really frustrating and irritating that my counselor has been out of the office during this stretch of the process. But, there’s nothing anyone of us can do about it so it’s out of our hands at this point. At the end of the day, we’re all solid applicants with a strong chance at getting in, so hopefully we’ll all get some good news within a week or so.

^Ditto. I’m pretty sure we have the same counselor because mine has been out for a bit as well.

Accepted into the College of Arts & Sciences!!
I got my acceptance package today and I live on the west coast.
Good luck to everyone still waiting :)

Is your counselor Joy Beth Bodie? She’s been helpful and very responsive to emails, but her absence leads me to believe that we may have a bit of a wait on our hands. Hopefully when she returns this Monday she’ll have decisions in the mail soon if they’re not already on their way.

^Yep it’s Joy Beth Bodie. She’s a sweetheart and has been very helpful up until a few weeks ago because she’s been out of office. I’m not sure if her time away from office is the reason for our delayed letters but I’d hope not.

I’m not completely sure how the process works, but I was under the impression that the individual counselors came up with decisions and then presented those decisions to a committee just before the first batch is released. If she’s been gone, then she may not have been able to discuss any of her applicants with the final committee, so we may have to wait until this coming week for everything to play out. IDK, we should probably get in touch with her on Monday if we don’t hear anything by this weekend.
