@Godric
I’m not sure. I told him I had to send some things after the deadline. He just said that my app was complete, but they haven’t made a decision yet and they wouldnt mail it out until next Friday. He wasn’t very helpful or specific. Honestly, he seemed like kinda peeved at the questions. He was kinda mean

How do they waitlist someone before they accept everyone?

Isn’t wl kind of like - you were up to par, but there is no room ?

Maybe it is a regional acceptance thing…

I have no idea–
My parents just received the letter today and it said that I was wait listed. It continued with the usual information on what to do on wait list.

I’ve been following this blog for quite some time very frequently and after seeing all the acceptances I was quite shocked about my admission notifications with high academic record, great references, great EC’s, etc. =/

I’m going to send in my mid-term grade report on Monday and hope for the best! :X

Yeah, doesn’t make much sense. But on a good note, if you look at previous years, waitlist is better than sgr.

I just remembered - someone posted earlier that people got off the waitlist 4 to 10 (I think) days after. Maybe that’s how they do the whole rolling admissions control.

But, idk. That’s just my speculation.

But seeing your grades… idk how you were waitlisted.

@incogneato - You should be fine. A good portion of those on last year’s wait-list were accepted.

Accepted!
and I’m all the way up in Alaska so I doubt it’s a regional acceptance thing…

I meant that they might have limits for each counselor.

@doremi,
What are your stats? If you don’t mind sharing

@doremi,
Congrats. Lol sorry. Forgot to say it in the post

sure, 4.3 HS, 4.0 college & midterm, 2190 SAT, nothing too special in terms of e.c.

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted! I know I was thrilled when I got my letter the other day. I looked for the Facebook group but I was out of luck. So, I took the liberty of making one myself with the name “Vanderbilt Fall 2011 Transfer.” If you’ve been accepted and are likely to enroll, join! Let’s get a group going for everyone!

Reeeeejected I really want to do a letter of appeal but I have no clue how the process works and my mom doesn’t really understand the college process because she did the guarentee program…
Can anyone help me?

@amandarin, I don’t think they’ll look at a letter of appeal until all decisions are made - someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Accepted. I cannot believe it.
Got the letter yesterday -
3.67 HS GPA & 3.54 in college. Applied to Peabody.

Get at me Nashville.

@theclassof2013
Yeah I get that, but I’m just looking for information on the process and ish…

@Amandarin

I’m really sorry to hear there. What were your stats?

I’m feeling pretty confident since my stats match up to those that were accepted, though my SAT’s are on the low end (~1200/1850).

I’m hoping today’s the day! maybe, I’m not too confident though

@Godric - Someone in this thread was accepted with a 1750 SAT so you should be fine.

@GodricGryffindor:
I don’t really want to share my stats.

Anyone:
- I drafted my letter of appeal, but my counselor is out of the office until May 1st, is anyone aware to where I would send it anyway?

Hello I applied to vanderbilt as a transfer, do you think its a big deal i didn’t send in my SAT’s? My gpa in HS was a 3.9 and in college its a 3.77
