no problem. im a sophomore and have a 3.65 from a private liberal arts college. got a 31 on my act. lots of volunteer work. i know its a reach but i hope i get in!!! and i hope we all do!

^I wouldn’t say you’re a reach. I think you have a legitimate chance.

The worst part is being in the dark as to where I’ll be next year. I always like to feel prepared and in control, but this process has left a feeling of disorganization over me. I agree with those who said they view their chances differently depending on the day. It’s rough lol, but luckily, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

Honestly, I think everyone who shared their stats has a very good chance at getting in. Seems to be a lot of strong applicants this year.

I think a challenging course load and a 3.5+ GPA should at least be competitive. If you’ve got a solid course load, a 3.65 should be fine, especially if you have a lot of volunteer work/EC’s under your belt. Like I said above, I think everyone has a very good chance based on last year’s applicants who were admitted.

thank you! i hope so…

@SMH1190 thats how i feel too. it gives me such anxiety that i dont know where ill be living or going to school in four months. im a control freak and love to plan so this is definitely a trying time for me as well.

I hope we really do find out in 2 weeks! I emailed my counselor last week with a question and also asked when we’d find out. She said decisions would begin being mailed in late April. I really am hoping that the counselors just say that but really start sending them out earlier!

Ugh late April would be terrible. It really muddies things up with housing if I have to stay at my current school. I’m not really sure how to go about housing in this situation since I would not be in the dorms at my current school, but I don’t want to sign a lease in case I get into Vandy and can’t find a replacement. I’m sure many are in my situation, and we won’t have a big window to get everything sorted. But, it could always be worse, as some schools don’t give a decision until May or June.

Oh and Logan, based on previous Vandy transfer threads, it looks like a fair amount of people found out around the 15th, so maybe there’s still hope. Plus, I thought Vanderbilt’s website had Mid-April listed as the time when the first batch of decisions would be sent, but I could be wrong.

so hopefully 10 more days…

I really hope we get them in less than 2 weeks. This wait is becoming unbearable.

so i just called to see if all my materials were received and the woman said my file was complete and a decision had been made and she would connect me to my counselor to find out the news. then i spoke to the counselor and she said that wasnt true and we wouldnt find out until late may… im so confused. i got my hopes up…

^^haha what!? ugh this sucksss

i literally thought i got in because the woman was so perky and she was like ill connect you right away to hear your decision! then my counselor was like… nope thats not true you wont hear till late may if not earlier. im actually heartbroken haha. maybe they did make a decision but cant say over the phone. or maybe the first lady was just flat out wrong. either way, it was torture.

@sarahjojojo - I just called as well. I was told my app was complete but I wasn’t told that a decision has been made. But if the woman on the phone said a decision was made on your application, doesn’t that mean you’ll hear back in mid April instead of late May?

Okay, here’s what I’m getting from my end. I called a few times and received pretty much the same information.

I was told that my application was complete, and that the admissions committee will be deciding on ALL applications at the same time beginning in two weeks. She said that there wouldn’t be any set “order” that they would be decided in.

After these decisions have been made, they will be mailed out ASAP.

I hope this is all true, as that means I’ll hear back from American, W&M, and Vanderbilt all at the same time. :D

i dont know because my counselor said no decision had been made but the first lady i talked to said there was a decision. so either the woman was wrong and there is no decision yet or my counselor cant say on the phone. i dont know. it was very disappointing though. did they say anything to you about when we should hear?

i bet no decision had been made for me and the first woman just made a mistake. i just want to know! yeah i should be hearing from vanderbilt, chapel hill, wake forest, and barnard all in two weeks. such a stressful process! i just want to know where im going. ughhhhh

I mean, if they begin in two weeks, it might take them a few weeks to go over a thousand apps, right? So imagine late April to mid May, which isn’t all so bad I guess.

What are your stats Sarah? I applied to Wake as well. Do you know when they reply back after you turn in the application?

What in the world is going on? This is all crazy! @sarah - I don’t think they would just tell you a decision had been made when they really hadn’t made one. Maybe they are just waiting a couple weeks so they can tell most people near the same time. Who knows.
What number did you all call and what did you say?
