im at a liberal arts college in nyc, a sophomore with a 3.65. i had about a 3.5 in high school not great. 31 on my act. but lots of volunteering at hospitals and other ECs.

i think wake forest is rolling and last year some people heard as early as this week. it seems like once your app is complete they look at it and make a decision relatively quickly.

@godric what are your stats?

I’m at a small, regionally ranked LAC. 4.0 GPA with about a 1900 on my SAT. Didn’t take ACT’s. Although, my SAT scores are from two years ago and I have about 90 college credits to counter balance it.

The only thing I’m worried about is my high school record which wasn’t all that great, a 3.6 GPA and a blemish on my disciplinary record. I graduated from high school last year, and I was in a college prep program that allowed me to attain an AA by graduation.

My EC’s were pretty good, so was volunteering. My essay… could’ve been better, admittedly.

Vanderbilt’s my first choice though, so I hope I get in. -sigh- I really should go complete my Wake app though, the short answers have really been scaring me.

yeah the short answers were ridiculous i put it off forever then finally finished last week. glad to be done. vanderbilt and usc and my top choices. im from la and i miss my home so usc is sort of my dream but vanderbilt is so amazing and great for premed which is want i want. i just am dying to transfer. do you know what wakes transfer stats are? i really like that school too. i hope i get in!

I believe they’re similar to their freshmen admits. But a lot of it is about fit as well as interest, hence the short answers.

i hope since i worked sooo hard on that supplement. either wake or vanderbilt would be amazing.

@logan i just called the main admissions number on the website and asked if my application file was complete and asked when we would be hearing decisions

Hi everyone,

I’m new to this thread.

Does anyone know how many people applied this year?

no idea but i hope they take all of us!

Last year there were 876 applicants and of those 876, 375 were admitted I believe.

oh i thought it was even more accepted than that. but still thats 4 out of 9 almost. good chances

Does anybody know how many credits you need to have to be considered a Junior applicants?

I took 10 credits my first semester, 12 in my second, going to take 6 in the summer, and 12 in the fall. I’ll have 40 credits by the spring. Will I be considered a Junior or Sophomore applicant?

Thanks.

I think you’d be a sophomore. I think minimum to be considered a junior is 48 credits, since you need 12 credits a semester.

Oh, in that case, then I will be applying as a Junior. If I need 12 per semester, then I’m good.

the days are going so slow! the wait is killing me!

^Tell me about it! Do they generally mail decisions at the beginning or end of the week (whatever week it may be)?

i think usually on fridays or at least i believe thats what it was last year

so do you guys think letters will be mailed out by the end of this week, or next week? I hope by the 15th…

I’m think they’re sent out every Friday, so we probably wouldn’t find out until the 18th or so if they’re sent on the 15th. Hope I’m wrong though.

I don’t know if we’ll get them as soon as April 15th/18th if GodricGryffindor was told they wouldn’t even start reviewing transfer apps for a couple weeks. Then again, they seem to be changing their story so who knows at this point

Eh, I’m pretty sure they will get them out to us hopefully by the 15th. In the last two transfer threads they were mailed in by tues/wenesday and most people got em around the sat (for the week of the 15th). If that makes sense. I’m sure they kinda waited to finish freshman apps first, but I’m sure they finished those around mid march and then moved right on to transfer students. Plus there is probably only 1000 apps or less, versus thousands and thousands.

It would seem like a pretty inefficient use of time if they didn’t review applications until mid-April considering that freshmen apps were finished a few weeks ago. I’d like to believe that a lot of us know by the 15th, but there seems to be a lot of contradictory info from the admissions office. I just hope I’m lucky enough to be in the first batch or two of decisions.
