@bluedevil8130 congrats; thats awesome!!! Where are you from?

@LeCanape @Cawledgeboundd thank you! I’m from NJ, and I sent in something like a letter but it was in the form of a shopping catalog because it connected to some of my interests. Then I sent in a few more emails to my AO, telling him that it was my first choice, and I also had my guidance counselor call the director of admissions and had my teacher send an additional rec

I only have until tomorrow at 11:59 to accept my spot; I thought it was three days

@bluedevil8130 thank you!! is the decision on your portal as well?

@Cawledgeboundd yep it is

No email or portal update here. So disappointed. It’s interesting, though, that my DS sent a short email on Monday morning and hasn’t gotten a response yet, which is very unusual. She usually responds in about one day.

@Choski94 where in the US are you located?

Ohio

is there a third wave?

I hope theyre just sending out west coast offers a little later. If not I might just take my name off the list. At this point I wish they just rejected me in march

Wondering why only one acceptance posted here in the second wave. What’s your major @bluedevil8130 ?

Just go the email! Im in!!! Good luck everyone!

@Bostonmom8 I’m an econ major

@godores22 – things can change from year to year, and there’s no way of knowing what any individual WLister’s chances are. You just have to see how it goes.

But don’t overlook the fact that Vandy (different from many other top schools) intentionally plans to use their WL every year. They intentionally under-admit at the RD stage, with the plan of getting 5-10% of their seats filled through the WL.

Other schools try to get close to 100% of their seats filled through the early/regular rounds. So they only use the WL (if at all) if their projections from early/regular turn out on the low side. FWIW.
