Vassar early decision-class of 2014

Hi guys! I’m a RD Vassar applicant but I wanted to just drop by and say GOOD LUCK! I visited the campus last month and it’s beautiful there :D

Best wishes to all <3

Thanks, Pninja, and best of luck to you too, when the time comes!

I just recieved my acceptance letter to my safety school, Drew University. It came with a pretty nice annual scholarship, too.

Vassar is still the reason I live and breathe, but it’s relaxing knowing that I am at least going to go somewhere.

Ahh! Congrats, Emily. That’s still pretty cool that you got accepted.

Congrats, Emily! I felt the same way when I got accepted to Siena. It’s sort of like knowing you have a future regardless of what happens with Vassar. However, I’m hoping we all get accepted to Vassar so that we don’t need to worry about any other schools. :)

I feel dumb now that I didn’t submit my other applications along with Vassar. I reasoned, “At least that way I won’t have to call and pull out of the admissions pool!” Oh well. Fordham knows I’m accepted EA or RD.

I’m so cool.

I don’t plan on actually hitting the “Submit” button until after December 15 for my other applications. My transcript, Counselor Report, and Teacher Recommendations will most likely have all been sent by then, but as all of my other deadlines are 1/1 or later, I think I will wait to hear from Vassar.

Haha, that was my plan from the beginning. However, Drew U and Wagner were due before the fifteenth, so I sent them in the same time as Vassar. I just thought it was common sense: why spend $50-75 on application fees if you have to withdraw them on December 15th? I would rather keep the $400 that I would spend applying to all my other schools.

Yeah, I only applied to Siena because they waived the application fee and I found out a week later. I haven’t even started my other apps =/

Btw, 16 days? ahh!

Wow! 16 days!! That is so intense! I think I am going to be sitting on my front porch waiting for the mail man those few days…

Sixteen days! Good luck, guys! This is seriously all I can think about! :D

Ok so I looked at the checklist of materials on my account and everything says recieved. Today, I looked again and noticed that it said ACT Scores: Recieved but nothing about SAT subject tests…I sent 2 subject tests along with the ACTs…do you think bc they don’t require them to be sent with ACTs that is why they are not on the checklist or do you think they havent recieved them?? ahhhh!

I still don’t have some materials received. I think they’ll email us if something were missing or if they can’t find it, right?

Hey,
I think that they’d probably email you, but I’m not sure. I called last week to check on something and they were super friendly, so you could do that, too. Good luck!

Thanks, purplepenguin. I’ll call tomorrow morning. It can’t hurt, right? If anything, it’ll show I’m super eager. Which is good, right?

RIGHT?! D8

Paranoid, party of one.

I have the same problem as Cllgecrazy1020- I sent 3 Subject Tests and 2 SAT scores as well as an ACT score, but the checklist only shows my ACT score.
In addition, my Counselor Report and Teacher Evaluation are still marked ‘Not Received’.
I’ll probably call on Tuesday, if they don’t turn up by then.

I’m paranoid that something happened to the Teacher Evaluation envelope that I forgot to put a return address on D:

I’m comforted by the fact that someone’s Counselor Report is still marked not received. It’s not good for any of us, but at least we’re not alone, eh?

I tracked down my Your Space which I Fedex’ed to Vassar and it got there Nov. 12 and it was signed for by someone named “F. Macdougal”. I Googled “Macdougal Vassar” and it came up with “Frank Macdougal, Warehouse Clerk”.

IDK, I thought it was interesting.

My daughter is also waiting to hear from Vassar before hitting the submit button for the other schools, except for the SUNYs, which the guidance counselor suggested to get in as early as possible.

For the SAT/ACT score thing, I read that Vassar except EITHER SAT w/ subject tests OR ACT with writing and that if you send both, they take only the highest one into account. So I think after they review them, they only put the highest out of the two on the status page. I submitted both and only my ACT, the better one, is the only one on there now. Just a thought. :)

I called the Vassar Office of Admissions this morning and they told me that if any component of your application is truly missing and they cannot find it, they will notify you “definitely by email” to resend anything missing. She also said something about “we’ll give you time to do it” so we’ll see.
