tanabelle: I thought my SAT was was higher, compared to my ACT, but I guess their conversion tables are different than the one I was checking before sending my scores.
mattsaysfierce: That’s really helpful. :)

Eeeeee, 15 days. This is going to be the looooooongest two weeks of my life, basically. I don’t even know how I’m going to function. And I find out the day before midterms. So much for studying.

Wow! Fifteen days!! These are definitely going to be on the list of longest weeks I’ve experienced… Hopefully I’ll be able to stay a little bit in the moment, but it’s super hard knowing that December is starting.

also, no idea about when we’ll hear for sure. i hear sometimes it’s later than the 15th. but yeah, quarter grades…did anyone else get this call?

Everything is received! I literally fell to the floor in relief and happiness when I saw. And yeah, the desktop background peeking out is the Vassar Thompson Library.

Yay, I’m relieved for you, Matt!
And omg, my desktop background is a picture of Main, no lie. I think I might change it on the 15th before I check the mail so that if I get rejected or something I won’t have to come back inside, look at my computer, and want to cry some more. lol

Lol! Amanda! Well, if it’ll keep you safe, then do whatever you have to do. If that happens, I just might have to find a very, very tall, very, very rocky cliff.

Emily, I LOVE that building! It’s so so so beautiful! And have no fear, I think we’re all as crazy as you are. At the beginning of this year I made a friendship bracelet with … yes, you guessed it … silver and maroon string so that during the year when I didn’t feel like doing an assignment I could just look at the bracelet and remember why it’d be worth it. Yes, totally cheesy, but it actually worked pretty well.

It is so much fun to read threads like this. Good luck to all of you. I remember when I got my Vassar acceptance as if it was yesterday. However, it was a little longer ago than that, as I am coming up on my… wait for it… 35th reunion!!!

^^^ ooh, tough question. Lots of great experiences. I guess it was the encouragement to question, to challenge, to think critically which has shaped how I approach challenges in life. Loved going to faculty homes nearby for meals, and being encourged and supported in whatever I wanted (eg I did an independent senior research project and got all the resources I needed, all paid for by the school.) That was not cheap as it required ordering animals, special food and all sorts of stuff. There were no limits to what one could do. I also really cherish my longtime friends. Just got a linkedin request form a former classmate today, in fact!!

Good luck everyone!! By the way, FWIW, I keep in touch with more VC friends (spent 4 yrs there) than grad school friends (spent 6 yrs there). Vassar friends are lifelong and friendships are enduring.
