Vegetarian?

Hm, after a couple of minutes of research I can see why people hate PETA. They sound totally crazy to be honest.

Edit: ^^Well, that is an effective advertising technique.

^^Not many vegetarians do that. It’s just an annoying little stereotype…

^Yeah, not a smart move to pull in front of the First Lady/the Secretary of State (I forgot which one it was).

I am a vegetarian. It’s not for religious reasons. I don’t care if other people eat meat but I hate the people that automatically assume I’m going to b**ch at them for eating meat. It’s like wow, judge much? Or the people that purposely push meat at me…

I HATE PETA.

people who say that don’t eat eggs are vegans not vegetarians. Many VEGETARIANS say they don’t eat eggs. If you don’t eat actual animal or anything produced by animals you’re a vegan.

Ugh I actually had a nightmare last night, that my helper tried to force feed us beef. Looks like my subconscious is in overdrive again.

I hate PETA. Their ads are disgusting. They’ve compared animal cruelty to the Holocaust and the lynching of black men during Jim Crow. Yes, animal cruelty is bad, but that’s just not okay in so many ways. Especially when those groups, Jews and blacks, have frequently been compared to animals to dehumanize them.

And PETA’s treatment of women. They’re so incredibly anti-feminist. Or maybe they conceptualize of themselves as third wave. [rolleyes]

I hate PETA for a plethora of reasons- the worst is that they’re DISGUSTING hypocrites.

pescetarians only eat fish, not chicken

and vegetarianism is stupid

let the flames begin

“PETA had a woman strip nude for her advocate on animal rights.”

LOL wasnt that Janice Dickinson? Ew.

Anyway, I only don’t eat beef because I was raised a Hindu even though I’m basically agnostic now. I’m just too used to avoiding beef.

Why are so many Hindus vegetarian, I wonder? Almost my entire extended family members are vegetarian/vegan/pescetarian.

I just like my meat too much.

Well my entire extended family is vegetarian too. I think it’s got something to do with not eating another living thing and the concept of ahimsa (non-violence). Bad karma I suppose. It goes I personally think it’s wrong for ME (don’t judge anybody else) to eat something which was walking/swimming around maybe last week. I feel squeamish about it. It’s also a matter of habit. If you are born vegetarian, the smell of meat is quite unappetizing.

In the south, vegetarianism is much more popular than in north India. I think it’s just a traditional/cultural thing and also the fact that you don’t need meat to survive unlike the eskimos.

My best friend’s a vegetarian. I enjoy eating hamburgers and pepperoni pizza around her.

humns are carnivores so i think people should eat meat, but i can understand where some vegetarians are coming from when they say they do it for moreal reasons…the treatment of animals on factory farms and in slaughter houses is absolutely HORRIBLE…its really sad actually :frowning:
and i hate PETA also…i am not for animal rights, i am for animal WELFARE

Pescetarians abstain from eating all meat excluding fish. Semi-vegetarians may eat poultry and/or fish.

And how is vegetarianism ‘stupid’?

^^Humans are most certainly not carnivores. We are omnivores, and our prehistoric diet consisted more of vegetables, fruits, and grains than of meat.
On a brighter note, you can avoid adding to the profits of Concentrated Feeding Operations (CFOs) and abattoirs by eating free range and kosher/halal/cruelty free food.

i’m a vegetarian and I’ve been one since I was 8ish and now i’m 16. i’ve always been a picky eater. and i don’t eat fish.

^^Well, that’s probably because we didn’t need to cook the non-meat stuff in prehistoric times. But yes, we are omnivores.

My reasoning is that if we can get nutrition out of it, why not?

How is being a vegetarian stupid? It’s a personal choice that doesn’t affect you so it’s not up to you to judge us.

This is the “tattoos are evil” thing all over again… While I could never EVER be a vegetarian, as I have always loved the taste of meat. I don’t see any reason that vegetarianism itself is stupid, unless the vegetarian isn’t getting enough protein.

^ Thanks Yank. I like meat-eaters like you :p.
