My son's "to do" list now has verification items that are due on 5/6/13. I called the FA office and they said not to do anything with them yet, just to wait until they send us further instructions later on.

Does everyone who is selected for verification get this or just those that are admitted?

Oh man, this sucks if its true
Are there any current students who recall not getting the email? Or anyone who called or contacted admissions asking about it?
Also, would applying to HEOP/EOP cause a delay in notification or perhaps make it a different descion process altogether?

My daughter has additional items in her to do list, (not due until May), but she has not received an email about them. We have been chosen for verification through FAFSA. I was wondering if they request the additional information from everyone who has been chosen for verification or if they wait to see if you are accepted. She was accepted EA at Tulane and received a likely from Vanderbilt, but neither of them have contacted her about additional information yet nor have any of the other schools from which she is waiting to hear RD.

Every accepted student has to do the verification as said on the website thats due in May… Maybe they haven’t finish deciding who should be accepted or not. This is weird. I have a feeling that people whose FA portals that says verification are accepted already ):

@eberej - Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.

@lilmelonred - What did you ask them when you called them up?? Cause I’m pretty sure if you asked them anything related to your application decision - they’d just say - “it’s currently under review”, pretty much a generic reply.

Anyway - those whose to do list hasn’t changed, should not worry. Because as far as I know, the FAFSA verification is done on a random basis.

@hopingforbetter - The verification isn’t meant for International students!! :D

Is there anyone from past years who was not accepted but still had this verification notice? If so, then this is meaningless and the verification notices on the “to do” list are just random.
