Very important RD question for all you other RDers

Stanford says the last acceptable SAT date is December. However they require a mid-year report in February... why can't I take the January SAT? It will definitely get there in time for consideration so I don't understand why they won't accept it... I mean it shouldn't be encouraged by man my SAT shall sky rocket in January and they can't simply ignore that, can they?

A few seconds ago, as I was browsing the titles of the threads in this forum, I was strangely attracted to one thread above all others: yours. The reason for this apparently subconscious desire to read what you had to say is based on one, arguably excessively powerful word: important. I was drawn to your thread, because I thought that one of my peers was in need, and that I could provide him/her with an answer.

I was disappointed. Your predicament is of a non-rectifiable nature. So, while your discovery may be an important event in the scheme of your life, the question that you pose is of no importance to the general public. There is nothing we can do to help you.

Please do not false advertise in the future.

Lol, sht up ihatestanford.
Ignore this troll, guys.

As to your question RBTrix, I don't know. I guess January scores would be ok, after all. However, they say December is the last acceptable date, I wouldn't mess with it.

I know, my problem being was that I sucked b4 and I want a non-sucky score to go to university XD

I do apologize for my earlier outburst. It's just that I am shocked to discover the quality of prose that the average Stanford applicant can muster. If you so desire, you may check my other thread to peruse my qualifications, but the fact of the matter is that I deserve to be admitted over people like RBTrix and aw5k who can't construct a proper English sentence. I am insulted that Stanford finds me to be in the bottom 90% of an applicant pool including the likes of aw5k, whose utter failure to master the English language is indicative in his/her statement, "As to your question", and RBTrix, who is unable to even convey his/her meaning in the sentence, "I mean it shouldn't be encouraged by man my SAT shall sky rocket in January and they can't simply ignore that, can they?" let alone doing it in accordance with proper grammatical rules. I do hope that you do not take offense in the above sentences, as I was only telling the truth, and this is meant to be an apology.

Are you going to register a new name if you get accepted to stanford the second round?

Haha, that's great.
I still think you're a troll, but I like you.
Please give me more of that, ihatestanford.

Dude, this is a forum. It doesn't matter how one writes here.

Secondly, it's called a "typo".

I think you got deferred because you seem very arrogant, in a forum. It's hard to sound arrogant when you're typing, but you accomplish this very well.

Hey Ihatestanford,

Realize that this is a casual environment and that your infatuation with immaculate english is very out of place. If you want to demonstrate your proficiency at the english language, take the SAT and do it with your essay or write a book; however, do not come here and try to portray yourself as a gift that god bestowed upon the earth, as it doesn't buy you respect in the eyes of ccers. In fact, it actually justifies your deferral from stanford (as a previous poster noted).

Hahaha. I laughed out loud at that. I'm usually over in the Princeton forum (us crazy Princeton hopefuls, and yeah, that is incorrect English I'm pretty sure) and I never realized that Stanford forum-ers are pretty hilarious too!

And by the way, your "false advertising" definitely worked, so, congrats.

Don't feed the troll, guys ...

Wouldn't other Stanford RDers be interested in this information too? I know I would be if I didn't start this thread... sorry if this bothers anyone...

RBTrix..I think Stanford should accept January test scores, if what you wrote about Stanford accepting our mid-year grades in February is true. As for me, I was unable to take the SAT Subjects because the test centre was filled. Well, is this my fault?? If I explain this to Stanford, I think they will consider my January test scores. If they accept mine for a reason, they should accept anyone's (hopefully) cause there's no real harm.

E-mailing or calling them is your best bet.

ihatestanford:

For someone who appears to take such great pride in a capacity for eloquent writing when compared to the others, even in a forum where no one is in fact consciously putting any real effort into eloquent writing or paying any significant attention to those that do, you still make mistakes. Isn't it nice to know that you're human? Examples follow:

"indicative in"? That makes absolutely no sense. It should be "indicated by". Don't you find it ironic that you're insulting someone for bad writing, and yet cannot even write the insult properly yourself?

Do you see your grammar mistake here? It should be "let alone do it" in order to agree with the previous subject and tense.

Overall ihatestanford, I'm sure you're quite capable of extremely eloquent and grammatically sound prose, but keep a few things in mind:

First, when you spend your time insulting others' grammar, yours must itself be perfect.

Second, this is an internet forum. No one cares.

To the OP:

While Stanford says it will not accept January SAT scores, I imagine that if you were to submit them and they made it to Stanford before your application was finished the evaluation process, they would probably be looked at.

I have also been thinking about this RBTrix. If you find any info please let me know.

I e-mailed them about it, an auto response said they're reopening on the 2nd of january and won't be able to respond until then.

Meanwhile I've registered for January SATs and I plan to rush them.

This thread made me lol!
Anyway, ihatestanford, I'd agree w/ others too that this is a forum not an english class! In addition, RBTrix didn't perform any 'criminal offense' since the SAT deadline thing is sth pretty important for students hoping to get admitted to Stanford!

Well first of all, anyone can be a Stanford applicant so, if anything, you should compare your grammar with that of those admitted.

Also, one of the many aspects considered is the character personality. While you considered your writing eloquent, judging from the short sample provided in your post, the admissions committee probably picked up pretentious vibes from your essay, which has led me to formulate the most unfortunate conclusion that, in real life, you're probably an arrogant jerk-off with few friends that can stand you with the notable exceptions of your parents and perhaps your pet hamster if you have one (if not, then your screwed).

I'm not even going to attempt to mask this flame with an apologetic tone like others have done.

p.s. I just read your post in the topic telling all deferred applicants to cheer up and I won't lie, I threw up in my mouth a little bit. Telling people not to fret because they're in such distinguished company. This account must be a joke because I have enough faith in mankind to believe such a pompous person does not truly exist.
