Hello, I am a Junior this year and somehow I got 4 B's this last semester, since I also did bad my freshman year the highest I can get my GPA by the end of Junior year is 3.775(unweighted). Should I give up on going to Cal Tech, Columbia, or U Penn?

if you give up you won't get into those schools. just make you sure you apply to a couple safeties along with those schools and im sure youll be fine.

Agreed. They may be reaches, but you have a chance. If you want to go to those schools, just apply!

3.775 isn't terrible. Just make sure you take the hardest classes.

Lol people on CC are so ridiculous. Yea a 3.775 (UW) is HORRIBLE. Give me a ****ing break.

People on this site...We need to realize that you aren't a failure by not getting a 4.0 and taking 15 AP classes with a combined 30 EC's. Don't call 3.755 terrible. You might want better but its not terrible. Its actually really good. But of course who would expect to know that on a site where people commit suicide when they get their first B or don't get above a 2200 on the SAT.

3.75 UW GPA = low? Pffft. I wouldn't sweat it.

stop being a **bag, just work and dont worry about stupid * like ths

How's the trend? It'd be a bit easier if you cratered during freshman year and had a monotonic trend up. You'll probably have to "explain away" your four Bs...see if any of the essay prompts will let you work an explanation in. I was forgiven for a 1.4 GPA (D average), but really, really had to plead my case.

It wouldn't be a monotonic function since GPA comes in discrete time periods. It's an isotonic function.

a ing 3.775 UW isn't *ing terrible you overachieving ******.

Alright, well my stupid School only let's us start taking AP classes junior year so I'm probably only going to graduate with like 8 or 9 AP classes. But anyway, I was just wondering because Cal tech is really hard to get into....no need to swear and get angry lol. By very low I meant by those schools standards.

Your doing it again. 8 or 9 AP's are just fine. Besides, what will worrying about it accomplish? Do what you can and hopefully it will be enough.
