Hi I just finished my time in the navy and I’m thinking about applying to University of Alabama as a freshmen and I do not want to transfer. I’m 25 years old and I was a decent student in high school I had a 3.2 gpa and I took the sat and got a 1080 and time the act and got a 22. So my question is do you think I have a chance to get into University of Alabama and do you think being a veteran help my chances? I want to major to major in history and I would be very thankful if someone respond and help me out Thank you so much!!!
their average act is a 26 and average gpa is a 3.2. the odds aren’t great, but leadership, volunteering, or sports would definitely help. my guess is 30-35% chance.
Do you think being in the military would help my chances
I can’t speak to admission scores, but in general UA is very welcoming and accommodating to veterans.

I would reach out to the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs and get their advice.

I’d be very surprised if you were rejected.
Thank you for your service.
@mrug23 is wrong, and probably just pulled that number out of thin air.
I’d say that if you apply now, there’s a 95% chance that you’d be accepted.
