@MarinaraSauce2 thank you! Do you know if they were notified by email or letter?
@pinkpony921 I would assume email first. All of the stuff Iāve received has been first by email and then a letter has come in the mail later.
My son got email about a half an hour ago telling him he was awarded St. Augustine Scholarship. Pretty cool getting it while we are at Early Acceptance Weekend.
Got an email earlier today telling me that Iāve been named a St. Augustine Scholar. Very exciting!
Hey guys! I got an email at about 5 pm today telling me I got the St. Augustine scholarship!
I got the scholarship too! I found out while I was on campus for the Early Candidateās Weekend which was pretty funny.
I do want to say something to all the parents who are confused about why their son/daughter didnāt get it even though they have perfect grades and test scores. My friendās friendās dad works on the board of something at Villanova and after he found out I got the scholarship, he told me that I must be a great writer because they āappreciate good essays.ā Villanova is a service-oriented school too, and I think I got the scholarship because I had great service experiences in hs and writing has always been a strength of mine. I got a high score on the ACT, but I didnāt have straight Aās. I think youāre underestimating how many qualified applicants apply for these thingsā¦there has to be something else to make them stand out. Just my opinion
Hey guys! For anyone who got the email saying they got the St. Augustine scholarship, did any of you click on the link for the āVillanova Alumni Conversionsā form and get āAccess Denied?ā Thatās what happened to me and Iām very confused why that would happen. Thanks!

@pinkpony921 Thatās been happening to me too.
@madp01 I think some may be a little put off by your comment about not being great writers, including myself. My son happened to have a pretty amazing Villanova essay, which probably should have been his common app essay because it was just that good. I would even go further and say it would be the kind of essay that teachers would use in their classes to demonstrate a great college essay. I donāt believe it had anything to do with his writing at all. I think it had to do with the fact that he walked away from the presidential scholarship because he had no intention of attending Villanova once he got his acceptance to ND. And now, in fact, he has gotten offered deanās scholarship at Fordham ($37.5 per year), Banneker Key Scholarship at Maryland (full ride), and semifinalist for ND scholarship AND invited to scholars program at ND. I think S19 was admitted to ND because of his amazing resume of service in addition to his high stats. Afterall, ND is all about being a āforce for good in the world.ā Furthermore, his Villanova essay was all about homelessness and his service includes living in a homeless shelter and building houses for hurricane victims among many other regular interactions with the needy. I am sure you āstood outā but to come out and tell people somehow their resume was not service oriented enough or that their writing wasnāt good enough is insensitive. You do not know each and every circumstance of why people were not invited to scholarship or even accepted. āJust my opinion.ā
@WineLover wow calm down. He just gave an opinion based on something he heard from an administrator, which I personally appreciate lol. No need to get all offended.
@MarinaraSauce2 LOL, not stressed at all. Just donāt agree with the opinion and pointed out that it could be considered offensive. Good luck to you and have a great evening.
DD applied RD and just received an invite to apply to the Saint Augustine Scholarship. Anyone know how many students are invited to apply for the 80 awards?
Congrats,
No idea. Thank you for sharing. Still hope then as I had thought all offers had gone out already.
Enjoy
Does anyone know when the Presidential Scholarship winners get annouced
by the end of this week, but most likely Thursday
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the acceptance rate for honors? My daughter was accepted after applying EA.
I was admitted into the Honors program but I havenāt confirmed my spot at Villanova yet. I looked on the Honors website and it said that the āHonors program incoming class of 2023 is now full.ā Does this mean I am not able to join the honors program because I havenāt committed yet, even though I was offered a spot? Are they full? Or does it mean that they have already filled up the OFFERED slots, and I can still commit?
My interpretation is all the spots have been offered to admitted students. Hence your slot should be reserved for you through May 1st. I would call either admissions or the honors college to confirm this is the caseā¦
Congrats & Enjoy
Unearthing this thread, lol. For those of you that accepted Honors can you give some insight into the program? Do you like it, is it a lot more work, how is the housing? Anything info is appreciated.
