<p>Hi guys
i just took the the Sats reasoning for the first time
and i didn't listen to the instructions carefully enough :S
i was switching back to a section to finish the questions that i have missed
unaware that it wasnt allowed.
The instructor caught me and later when the exam was finished she called me over
and showed me a message that she said she would report back.
It said about how i was working on a previous section (mentioning the specific section what i went back to work on).
I tried to tell her that i did not know that it was violating the rules, but of course she didn't believe me (i dont blame her).
she said it would probably not affect my scores at all, because it is not considered as cheating.
I'm still very very concerned.
Has anyone experienced this before and know what the consequences are?
Will they deduct scores from the specific section that was reported back?
Will i get a minimum score for my whole exam?
Eeeks.</p>
<p>Your scores will probably be cancelled.</p>
<p>Ignorance of the rules in not considered an excuse. The test will probably be marked invalid and no scores given. You had better register again, and this time go over the rules very carefully, so there are no such mistakes or misunderstandings.</p>
<p>it's really easy to jump from section to section without the proctor
noticing...kinda obvious if you switch back to the essay, though :)</p>
<p>do you really think my whole score will be cancelled? the instructors did tell me that it would only be considered as "warnings". i guess they just didnt know. AH lord.</p>
<p>are you 100% sure? :'(</p>
<p>Well, I was listening to my ipod during a break back in March.
I got caught and a report was sent.
I still got my scores.</p>
<p>They did a through analysis of my ipod. Lol.
But I had nothing to hide, I didn't save any music on it whatsoever.</p>
<p>hahaha i see.
i guess returning to previous sections is a lot worse compared to listening to music during break.
i really hope my scores dont get cancelled.
SIGH.</p>
<p>So is this your first time taking a standardized test or something?</p>
<p>Well it is because you have direct contact withe the test.
I was standing in the hall.</p>
<p>but who knows, its up to the supervisor of the building to write the report. Lets just hope that he isn't harsh about it lol. By the way, how did you get caught? o_o </p>
<p>was the teach walking around? or did she just come up to you?</p>
<p>ok so this guy RIGHT next to me was flipping back and forth the sections. so the supervisor came and warned him not to. I was working on the wrong section too at the same time, so when she came to warn him i was so surprised and nervous, cuz i didnt know we werent supposed to! i sat still frozen (i should have quickly flipped back to the right section) she noticed the conspicuous section number on the top of the page and she came over and told me that this could get me into trouble. </p>
<p>Zinokey:yes it was first time</p>
<p>If she wrote a report saying that you flipped back to a previous section, your scores will probably be canceled. I'm not 100% sure, but thats what you should expect. Sign up for a new one in case that does happen. If you end up getting your scores, then you got lucky.</p>
<p>khoitrinh is probably right. If your proctor filed a report you are most likely screwed. Remember, you did more than just look at another section. You answered questions. Recommend you sign up for the Nov or Dec test.</p>
<p>Proctors don't get paid much. Filing a report would take too much time. lol It really depends.</p>
