Virginia Tech Transfer 2013

So there are 2 more waves left?

The top of my application status page says, “This is a summary of the processed application that was selected.” Does that mean that they have already reviewed my application?

no @scoobielover! That’s just referring to the application material you sent in…it’s just a note regarding the chart that tells you what dates they received materials from you

I am a Nvcc transfer student, after the end of this semster i will have a associates degress in General studies( i was planning on going to George Mason ). my Cumlative Gpa is currently a 3.1 but this semester i am taking 18 credits and currently have a 4.0. I have yet to hear anything from Virginia Tech, i applied as a Business Management Major. I know my gpa is a bit low and my declared major at Nova is General studies however i have taken many of the Business courses at nova such as Accounting 111, Econ 1, intro to business, ETC… but i have seen others with similar gpas have already been accpeted. Would it have been wiser to apply as a less competative major such as Communications or Marketing to improve my chances to get into the school?

Eeeh 2 more waves?! Last year some people still got accepted at the end of the month also right?

yeah collegebra when I read last year’s forum, people still got accepted right at the end of April

April is probably one of the biggest months for notifications from what I could tell from last year’s thread. Don’t get discouraged! There is still quite a bit to go.

yeah there are definitely still a lot of decisions to go out for April! I think tomorrow through next week we’ll see a lot of people getting hokie birds! heads up :)

Has anyone received an email about Tech reviewing your financial aid and has a bird? I am in the same situation but no official notification

they never even asked me for my mid term grades…considering most people who got in had to send them, i think this could indicate some upcoming bad news for myself blahhh.

Good luck everyone!!!

I wonder what time ppl would see changes today

@rottenapples- I got in and I never sent midterm grades. Hang in there!

@jennyk13: good to know, thank you!

and good luck everyone today!!

I got in within 2 1/2 weeks of receiving a hokie bird. I also didn’t get asked for my midterm grades. I hope this helps anyone that is anxious for a response!

I Just wish they’d let everyone know how they process the applications. I had all my stuff in by the end of January, had a 4.0 the first semester and still havent heard back. Its just discouraging having to play the waiting game for so long and having so much hang in the balance

i’m with you. i had my stuff in 1/29 and a 3.7 gpa. meanwhile people who applied in february with 3.0s have already gotten in

Come on guys that’s not the right attitude comparing to others, you have to stay positive. And as far as admissions process you have to think they have to take into acct. where people are coming from(in-state, out of state, where in state) people with guaranteed admissions, with early decision, etc They have to fairly split up a limited amount of spots so I think it makes the process in a way kind of random

Chriss, thats all admissions does is compare you to others. Its a competition as to who gets it. Its not right for someone with fewer credentials to get in where someone with more did not

I guess we won’t be seeing birds tonight! :frowning: oh well. Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend! don’t stress
