Virginia Tech VS University of Maryland (College Park)

Hi!

I am currently a high school senior trying to pick which college I want to attend in the future, but I can’t decide on where to go. I am going to be a Business Information Systems/Business Management major, and my two options are VT and UMD - College Park (I have pros and cons for both schools).
VT is in-state which is much cheaper, however, it is not as known for Business. UMD, on the other hand, has better recognition for business, but it is out-of-state and even with my scholarship, it will still be very expensive. If I go to VT, I will be able to afford studying abroad, which has always been a dream of mine, and that will definitely be something I do if my plans aren’t somehow canceled. UMD is closer to DC (where I live) and I feel like that would be more helpful when it comes to internships and jobs. Also, I would love to eventually attend grad school to earn my Masters after undergrad.
Please feel free to leave any comments or suggestions because I am stuck between the two. Both are great schools, and I am happy to attend either one. Any outside opinions is appreciated. Thank you so much.

Virginia Tech 's business school is just fine . BIT majors from there get good jobs. It is cheaper. Take a look at Virginia Tech’s detailed post graduation surveys to get an idea of where BIT grads get jobs. Lots of Virginia Tech grads end up in the DC -Baltimore area. Good luck with the decision.
