Virginia Tech

I recently dropped my AP Calculus AB class because I got a D for the first semester of my senior year. In senior year we have this thing called “Mid-year reports” which my school sends out our first semester grades to our colleges. I applied to Virginia Tech, and was wondering if it was better to drop my class and receive a “WP (Withdrawal while Passing” or have taken the “D” on my mid year report? What are my chances?

I am not an expert on admissions, but I would suggest taking a WP. Honestly, if you leave the D then VT knows you got a D. With a WP all they can do is make an assumption, they could give you the benefit of the doubt and assume a B or C. If a rude admissions councilor reviews your application, the worst they could do is assume a D, which is the truth. Best of luck!!
