Im a senior in high school and we have mid-year reports that get sent out to the colleges we apply to. In that mid-year report its our 1st semester grades. I got a “D” in one of my classes and i was wondering if colleges would rather see me drop the class i got a “D” in or see the “D” on my mid-year report? If i withdraw form the class i get a “WP” on my mid-year report which means Withdrawal while Passing.
Which one do you think i should do?
I assume this isn’t a required class to graduate and it’s not a class that they require for you to have admission, right? In that case, ditch the D, take the withdraw/p. If you get a D, you will need to do a lot of explaining. They don’t like to see a major drop in grades. If you withdraw from a class, you simply notify them that you withdrew to spend more time on other commitments. The fact that your school offers this option is pretty nice - most kids don’t get the choice.
This class is AP Calculus AB. I don’t need it to graduate because i only need 4 math credits and i already have 4 math credits without the Calculus class.
Thank you for your response though.
