I was wondering what my chances are for getting into Virgina tech:
Major: Computer Science
From: Massachusetts
GPA: 3.3
SAT: 1200
Extracurricular: Member of Chess and Cyber Security Club; Soccer Captain and I participate in indoor and outdoor track. And does a reccomedation from an alumni help?
Your chances are low, as your GPA and SAT are below average. At this point, try to raise your SAT as much as possible. Your Soccer EC does improve chances though.
If you want to go to Tech also consider Radford University. It’s also a state university and is 30 minutes from Tech. A lot of VA kids start at Radford and transfer. I’m pretty sure they have your major.
What are your math and science grades like? Whats your courseload been like? Is the GPA weighted or unweighted? If its a 3.3 weighted your chances are very low with that SAT.
