Vision 2012 dilemma

Hi guys. I got invited to Vision at Rice this year, and was just randomly going through college emails just now and noticed that it said I had to decline or accept. My parents couldn't afford it so I didn't go and I am now worried if that will hurt my chances as I never replied on the website. Will they think I am not interested? It is my first choice and the fact I missed that is really worrying me.

I don’t think you need to worry about this. You have a better chance of getting in having been invited to the Vision 2012 program. The approximately 200 students that attended were told that March 20 was their notification date for admission. Best of luck to you.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I wish you the best as well  I really appreciate that.

When were the people who attended Vision 2012 told of this? Because I have a friend who went, but she doesn’t recall hearing this (and she would have remembered, had she heard), but she also wasn’t there for the the first dinner or the Welcome and Introductions on the first day. Also, do you think this date is only for the people that attended Vision 2012, or overall?

My son went. He was told during a side conversation (not an announcement), that if everything goes as planned (without an “electronic hiccup”), March 20 would be the earliest date of electronic notification for all regular admission applicants. This date appears to be also consistent with last year’s date of notification.
