Visitas Question?

I was accepted to both Harvard and Stanford, and, unfortunately, both Admit Weekend for Stanford and Visitas are on the same weekend, though not on the same days. The situation is: I can either go to Visitas, after having been to Stanford Admit Weekend, which will be a 6 hr flight minimum to Boston late at night from San Francisco, and will probably leave me very tired and miserable, or to go visit Harvard on the weekend before Visitas, but miss all the festivities. My question is, are there events at Visitas that would definitely be worth not missing, despite any fatigue I would garner getting there? Or would it be better to visit on a normal weekend, to get a normal idea of Harvard life?

I wish I had these kind of issues :)

On admit weekends, each school puts on it’s own “dog and pony” show trying to woo applicants that have been admitted to multiple schools. The experience and activities are not indicative of what your life will be like on a random weekend if you actually attend that college. Some students walk away from admit weekends more confused than before they came. You will get a more realistic view of college life if you arrive on another day, sit in on classes that interest you, talk to students, eat in the dining hall, walk around campus and see which school feels more like home. So, I don’t think you should try to attend both schools on the same weekend. You’ll be exhausted and won’t be able to think clearly about your choices. Pick one school, attend their admit weekend, and then if you can afford to, go to the other school on another weekend. If you call the Admissions office, they will arrange for you to stay at another time.
