visiting day U of Michigan

Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know that Michigan makes you PAY to go to an accepted students day. And, I needed to cancel a reservation for the accepted students day less than 24 hours later, and they will NOT refund it! Responded to my call and voicemail with a cool form email. I know it’s not a huge deal, but I don’t want my kid treated like that, so it’s helping us guide her decision… Some other schools have been so incredibly kind and individualized and so on.

The cost is mainly for the meal.

Right… how much was the cost again? I forget, but I wasn’t too happy either (I think transfer students day cost was round 90 something, i forget.)

I don’t remember but I think it was around $30 with a parent and the second parent is even cheaper. Parking should be included too.

We just signed up for Campus day and I remember seeing it is refundable if you cancel, but it would take up to one or two weeks.

Just check again. It is $30 for the student with one parent/guardian. $5 more for the second parent/guardian. One mya choose to pay at the door for $2 more. It includes meals for each person in the dining hall.

They refund it, look closer. Also, I was able to change my original visiting day to another with one phone call. They were very kind and sent a confirmation email immediately. On a side note, my D was blown away by the university and the town. Visiting day was classy and informative. The kids at umich seemed like a great kids.
