Visiting Illinois

I am visiting the university in October and wanted to know what hotels were close to campus and also nice.

Also Ive heard that the Union has its own hotel. If someone can tell me more about that like pricing, rooms, etc, that would be great

<a href="http://www.union.uiuc.edu/services/hotel.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.union.uiuc.edu/services/hotel.htm</a></p>

^bet you can find anything you need there. I've stayed there twice, nice place. I dont know how busy they are during the school year, but during the summer i've heard you have to make your reservation at least a month to two months in advance. I made mine in June for a late August stay.

DO NOT stay at the Travel Lodge.

We stayed there for TheatreFest, and it was vile. I promise you, vile. Like- dead animals and drunks vile.

Other than that, i just stay with people i know; do you know anyone there? I'd say that's your best bet.

the big problem is...the homecoming game is on saturday night...and i will be there sunday night/monday so there will probably be some problems finding a hotel

If you'll have a car, the Marriott Courtyard is the cleanest and nicest hotel I have stayed at in the area. It's less than a 10-minute drive off campus, but not really a walking option. Lots of decent restaurants in the area, though. There are a few other hotels/motels owned by Marriott in the immediate area. The Union is the best option if you want to be within walking distance of everything.

What about the Holiday Inn Express. Its a few miles from campus as well
