do you have any suggestions for hotels near tulane w/ wifi? that's the only stipulation- it'd also be nice if the hotel served breakfast.

is there a significant tulane discount on airfare? it's just for southwest, yes?

do you think using the streetcar is enough to get around? i'll be apartment hunting with a family member, btw.

any other suggestions? i'm open to them.

thanks! :)

The Hampton Inn on St. Charles has free wi-fi, and it is right on the streetcar line. There are probably others, but it is reasonably priced and very convenient. The streetcar is enough to get around to all apartments/houses for rent near Tulane. If you are looking elsewhere in the metro area, you would need a car or taxi.

There are no Tulane discounts for airfare, but Southwest will probably usually be the cheapest.

thank you! you are so helpful as always. :)

Also, you should check out the Country Inn & Suites New Orleans in the French Quarter. It’s really not in the French Quarter per se, but close enough and far away from it enough that you won’t get shot. Just kidding. How morbid. It’s where I am staying and it is pretty cheap and comes with free Wi-Fi and free continental breakfast. Woohoo! Also, if you stay 2 nights, you get a third night for free. The hotel is on Magazine Street, and you just have to walk 2 blocks to catch the St. Charles streetcard. Also, Mother’s is right around the corner.

Yes, I know that location. Should be very good. Just allow extra time for getting to campus. About a 30 minute streetcar ride instead of 10-15. In all cases allow 10-15 minutes waiting for a streetcar, more later at night. They are very sporadic. It’s New Orleans.
