Viterbi School of Engineering Faculty Honored

<p>Dean Yortsos was elected to the Academy of Athens. This spring he was honored with the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.</p>

<p>Dr. Sol Golomb has received another honor to add to his long list. He was named a 2014 Fellow for the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM).</p>

<p>Dr. J. Barbic was awarded a Sloan Research Fellowship.</p>

<p>Five junior faculty were named National Science Foundation Career Award winners. This number was among the highest of U.S. engineering schools.</p>

<p>Two more faculty members were elected to the National Academy of Engineering.</p>

<p>Dr. M. Tambe was recognized as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery.</p>

<p>Dr. Azad Madni received the 2014 Council of Systems Engineering Lifetime Achievement Award.</p>

<p>Dr. A. Hodge presented the Hillian Lecture at Northwestern University.</p>

<p>Four more faculty members were elected Fellows of the IEEE.</p>

<p>Eight new professors were added to the faculty.</p>

<p>Dr. Costas Synolakis received the 2014 Solobiev Medal of the European Geophysical Union.</p>

<p>Dr. Eillis Ming was honored by the ASEE Engineering Research Council. She received the 2014 ASEE Curtis McGraw Award.</p>

<p>The name of Dr. Nora Ayanian was included in the IEEE Intelligent Systems “10s to Watch” for 2014.</p>

<p>Dr. Ashish Soni was named to the SoCalTech 50.</p>
