Vocal Performance PreScreen Notifications - Graduate and Undergraduate

annie43,
Just read your story about Northwestern. Others may disagree, but I would consider contacting one of the teachers who gave your daughter a sample lesson - especially one who thought the pre-screen would not be a problem for her. It may be possible to override the decision not hear her in person. This story does not add up, and I don’t think it would hurt to question it.

Good luck to you and your daughter. Very stressful times!

Has anyone heard from juilliard? Still haven’t heard.
CMU- passed (email)
Northwestern- passed (email)

Nysoprano, again, daughter is a bassist, so your milage may vary but her audition is scheduled for this coming Saturday and she just got the email with the schedule last week and the snail mail letter Saturday the 19th.

My S (undergrad) still hasn’t heard one way or the other from Peabody or Julliard.

My D got an email from Purchase today. She passed her Prescreen! Now just waiting for Juilliard! Hopefully that will be this week!?

Phew - Email from Vanderbilt today. Passed the prescreening.

Indianna Univeristy Graduate - Jan 22 email (passed) - had requested the late audition date.

Also forgot, Boston university email (declined)-sent my prescreening a week ago last minute just to see if i could add another school
Yeah I’m just waiting for Juilliard now.
Do people who pass northwestern normally pass Juilliard? How many do they pass?

Hi all. I’m out of town. I’ll add all the new details with the convenience of my desktop when I return. Thanks for posting, and congrats for your successes!

megpmom, Juilliard prescreen results aren’t out yet but should be any day now. I’m not sure what to think about the dearth of news from Peabody. You may want to contact them and inquire. I’m not up on Peabody this year. But, as you can see, some people have heard back.

megpmom, I saw this on the Peabody website. There are actually May auditions? For undergrads? Wow. That would be hard. One would have to choose a school by the national decision date of May 1 without knowing if they got in the program. Huh.

I think S has decided to call Peabody about his prescreen on Friday, if we haven’t heard yet. We know that they received it, as he spoke directly to the dean of admissions about it earlier. Luckily, we already made a hotel reservation (just in case). And we have previously gotten very cheap Spirit Air flights to Baltimore at the last minute. So…it’s doable, I just hate the waiting.

^Sounds like a great plan. You’ve got your ducks in a row. Yes, the waiting is the hardest part. That’s why I created this thread … in hopes that future CCer’s could know what to expect, in general, rather than checking portals and emails every 5 minutes for months on end! :)

Ok, S just got his letter from Peabody in today’s mail - he passed! Now, just waiting with everyone else for Julliard.

So far, he passed prescreens for SMU, MSM, and Peabody (undergrad voice, bass-baritone). He’s already been accepted at OCU and Westminster. And sent in video audition (in lieu of live audition) for Frost-Miami. Yep, Tom Petty had it right - the waaaaaiting is the hardest part!

For those who were asking, MSM audition info is now available via the portal. Still just waiting on Juilliard now!!

Still out of town, but wanted to congratulate megpmom and S again. Nice job!

We’re waiting for Juilliard like everybody else. I know for certain that they’re done with at least some of the prescreen reviews. Oh, the waiting is hard …

Anybody else waiting on Curtis?

I heard that Juilliard invitations went out today (undergrad).

It was a no from Juilliard for my D :frowning: Oh well, she knew it would be difficult to get through there.

We did have good news today, D was invited to audition at Juilliard - VP undergrad - email. So, we’re excited!

Lisanic, from what I’m reading there are so many avenues that your D can pursue, if it is her passion, I’m sure it will work out!

lisanic, I’m sorry about Juilliard. Let’s celebrate your successes! I’ll add Purchase to the list. Great job!

Yay, nysoprano! Congratulations on passing the Vanderbilt prescreening! Nice work.

Singersmom07, it’s nice to have another graduate student in the mix. Congratulations on your D’s success with Indiana U!

MToropera, thanks for sharing your news about Boston U. It sounds like your pre-screen possibly made it in too late for consideration. Would you mind sharing the date of your decline email? I’ll post it after I get the date.

megpmom, I am so glad your son finally heard from Peabody! Phew. I wonder what went on there? Congrats on all your son’s other successes, too. I’ll add them to the list.

And finally! The long-awaited Juilliard results are in! That’s great! I don’t think my son got his results yet. I’ve been out of town for a few days and just returned a little after midnight. Maybe my son just hasn’t told me yet? But more likely, he hasn’t gotten the word yet. He’s a graduate applicant.

Well, thanks again, everybody for sharing! Here’s the new list:
