As May is a quiet time for admission offices, many of our staff will be away from campus in the coming two weeks. As a result, we will unable to respond to all posts daily although we will do our best to respond to any specific admission questions during the work week. We will return to our more frequent contributions to this site on May 31 after the Memorial Day Holiday.

If you need immediate assistance, we encourage you to contact our office by phone (757-221-4223) on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST or email us at admission@wm.edu

Thanks for the update and have a nice vacation! We really appreciate your input here.

I don’t intend to sound rude, but I understand from the Admit It! blog post and the FAQ that decisions and calls will be made starting around now. Does this mean waitlisted students should not expect correspondence until after Memorial Day?

Sorry for any confusion. The blog entry regarding wait list activity on our AdmitIt! blog did mention that we generally correspond with students about wait list movement around the third week in May. That has been the case in some admission cycles and not the case in others. We have not made a final decision regarding the wait list and plan to do so in the near future. We will correspond with all students who indicated to us that they would like to remain on the wait list as to whether or not we will be going to the wait list by mid-June. Thank you!

wm admission, what’s the size of class of 2015? How many freshmen attend to wm this year?

The Class of 2015 will be comprised of 1,450 students. There were 1,400 freshmen here for the 2010-2011 school year.

Is it a bad thing that you have not made a decision regarding the wait list as of yet? Does that mean you are closer to the target class than you thought you were?

Our timing this year is not necessarily a “bad thing.” Each year we make a decision regarding the wait list anywhere between the third week in May until the middle of June. The exact timing does not reflect the size of the class.
