Only took ACT - 27, which was the worst thing about her app.

vamotherof4, what was her SAT Score? I’m so nervous… “hyperventilates”

Man, that’s so weird… kids with low GPAs but high SATs got rejected from UVA, but kids with high GPAs but low SATs got in…

I’m guessing WM is harder for white girls to get in since thats the majority of their study body.

ahh i’m nervous too! i know i won’t get in, but i’m still nervous!

i’m probably hyperventilating for nothing though, since i probably won’t get it today!

haha i feel the same way!

my mailman doesn’t come till around 4:30, so it really screws up my day!

I’m feeling nervous too!!! I really like this school, but I’m OOS and I only have a 30 ACT score… My GPA isn’t probably high enough either… I hope the rest of my application can pull through. Probably not.

GPAs are usually weighted heavier than SAT scores.
Simply b/c the GPA takes 4 years to achieve while the SAT takes only 4 hours. A person with a low GPA and a high SAT usually gives the impression that they didn’t take their education as seriously as they could have (whether that’s true or not is a different matter).

I’m East Asian, an OOS, and I only have a 28 ACT with B average grades. I did do great with the teacher recommendations and the essay. However, I’m expecting a rejection letter. I’m just glad W&M took the time to look over my application.

I am beginning to think there is no rhyme or reason to a lot of this admissions stuff…
my son was accepted to West Point, Early Action and Notre Dame…but rejected at Georgetown and waitlisted at UVA…waiting for W & M letter…but do not have a good feeling. Good luck to all of you.

I was kind of excited when I saw that I had a thick envelope…but alas, waitlisted. That makes five waitlists for me: Georgetown, Emory, Wellesley, WashU, and now W&M. Wowww, my life is over.

I hope I’m even CONSIDERED for a waitlist…

laframboisevert - are you in-state?

OOS…

10char

Ah, I’m sure you’ll get in! It is harder for OOS but I’m sure you can do it!! :)

Does not doing the optional essay hurt you? Essay writing is not my strength so I didn’t do it…

i didn’t get anything today from W&M and i’m in NC

I’m from NC too, and there is still nothing.

I am really hoping this is the answer I’ve been looking for. I have been waitlisted at Northwestern and Vanderbilt already, and I don’t need a third waitlist to add to the ranks.

I’m in Texas, so maybe I don’t hear from them today. Hahahaha great, one more extra day to add to the stress!

i live right next to Wm and just go the letter.
i got waitlisted prolly my low sat 1820 :((
