<p>So are you saying that no needy student should apply ED to W&M, since the on-line worksheets provide only an approximation, not certainty?</p>

<p>In no way am I implying that needy students should not apply early decision. I’m only saying that any student considering ED should do his/her homework before hand and talk with financial aid offices and use on-line tools to get a sense of how an aid package might look. </p>

<p>W&M is committed to diversifying its campus in all ways including socioeconomic ones and we know that needy students are in our ED pool and receiving great financial aid packages and we in no way want to discourage them from applying. We just want them to take the ED commitment seriously and not rely on an “out” so to speak.</p>
