hey everyone-

i just called the admissions office and they said we should all be notified by the end of this week.

not suprising, since june 30th is this weekend haha.

good luck everyone

Good Luck Everyone. It has been a fun discussion lol.

has anyone heard anything?

Our friend's daughter just got off - she had been going to BC and now it's GT!

Did she recieve a letter? How did she here? For what school?

got my rejection letter today. they were sent out on june 29th

at least its over

Im sorry, DH9800, I havent recieved anything yet, I wonder if there is still hope? Did the letter mention how many they accepted? Was it at least friendly in nature?

Crog359 -- We are in southern California and still have not heard, and today's mail already has come and gone.

This is very confusing. If they mailed out on Friday, which ic alled gtown and they said they did and that they had NOT called people but justs ent letters but that they HAD made offers of admission..How could the girl fc2 discusses have ehard by Sunday...that would mean a letter would have been sent out friday and gotten in there saturday. Also, if she did in fact get a CALL, was georgetiown not telling me the truth?

I doubt very much that you -- or anyone else -- is being misled. Not only would there be no reason for doing so, Georgetown does not strike me as the kind of place that would do that for any reason. I suspect that the mailing was completed by June 29, but may have started earlier. In all events, it certainly is conceivable that a letter mailed on Friday could have arrived on Saturday. On a personal note, from your postings it is clear enough to me that you -- like my son -- have at least as much passion and desire as anyone else to be at Georgetown. I hope that both of you are admitted and so get the chance to show the school what a good (if delayed) decision it made!

Haha socalrent, i so hope I am able to meet your son this fall lol.

And DH , if you are still reading this forum, what are the details of the letter?

June 29, 2007

Dear DH,
The committee on Admissions has now completed its review of the candidates on the extended Waiting List. I am very sorry to tell you that it will not be possible to offer you a place at Georgetown for the coming year.

As we informed you in our letter offering you a position on this Waiting List, it was our judgment that the likelihood of a space becoming available was quite small. At this time, it is clear that attrition will not be sufficient to allow consideration of further candidates. We thank you for your patience throughout this process.

The Admissions committee has noted your strong and continuing interest in Georgetown and asked me to advise you of the possibility of transferring to Georgetown after one or two years at another institution. While we hope that you will find the institution you enroll in to be exciting and challenging, if going to Georgetown remains your goal, we would certainly welcome your application for the 2008-2009 academic year.

I regret that I must send you this disappointing news. I do wish you every success in your college studies.

Charles A. Deacon.

Well DH, i just got rejected too.

At least it is in fact closure.

right. i'm going to tufts and i'm very happy about it.

now that its over i can finally look forward to it.
