The guy said, "Do you think you'll be interested in financial aid?" Heck, yes! He had me call the FA office and get things started, but at the point, she had already called him back and said yes.

did you do anything in between the time of receiving the waiting list notice and the time of the call?

Things seem to have quieteddown...Does anyone know if the committee will probably be making final decisions on potentially avilable spots more towards the middle of the month versus now?

I don't know that they will be going to the Extended Waitlist at all this year. Not expecting to hear anything until closer to the end of the month...I don't think there are any spots right now.

DcDude...I know there are no spots right now, nut apparantley usually 5 or so become available in june if past years are any indication.

That would be terrific...I'm holding positive thoughts tempered with a dose of reality! Will post immediately if I hear anything at all. The waiting is the worst!

The waiting is very difficult lol. There is def comfort in the fact there are only 3 weeks left untill a final verdict is issued though.

And ps Im assuming any acceptances would prob happen in mid June? I doubt they simply get an opening and immedietly fill it...when they ahev time on their side Im nto sure it would be smart to do that...hopefully some spots will open up. Good luck to all! Post frequently about your thoughts/if you hear anything!

They should just cut to the chase and put us all on an island to fight it out, Battle Royale style. No more waiting that way :D

Lol .

Its June 13th and the list ends June 30th...Is hope lost? :/

It seems gloom, but you have 17 more days until the fight is officially over. I hope if the people don't make it fall in love with their other schools they got into.

Crog359, where are you going if Georgetown does not come through?? My daughter is also on this "extended wait list" but she is already in full swing picking out classes for Hopkins in the fall. You should really start to move on...

I am going to NYU and am qutie happy with it, I am obsessed with georgeotwn and have been since I was a little kid lol, thats all. But believe me, I know where reality is right now lol.

Damnit...wish your daughter and I could exchange schools :( (GU and JHU)

Why?? What does JHU have that Gtown doesn't, in your opinion of course. In my own opinion, it has more of the genuine intellect and less of the preppy type hype, lol! But just curious as to your view...

And Crog, congrats on NYU. I am from NYC originally. You will have a blast in Manhattan and get a great education besides.

Kornpopz: just reread my post and it sounded inconsiderate. Did not mean it to be that way. I know you will have a great time at Georgetown.

this whole thing is just making me depressed-- does anyone know if it would still help to call/mail?

i am heading to Cal in the Fall otherwise.

caruth--don't be apologetic, most of your post was right on target. In my opinion, jhu outshines GU in not only genuine intellect, as you mentioned, but also for its overall academic "reputation"....When I mention to people I'm going to Georgetown, quite a few of them respond, "Oh. Isn't that the preppy school in DC?"....As for JHU, most people respond quite differently, like "Wow"...I don't mean to say that I would base my entire college decision on someone else's perception of that school's prestige, but you know what I mean....:D....and I'm not saying im not a proud Hoya :D...(cuz I'm grateful for what I have)

Thanks, Kornpopz - where are you from? In the northeast, most people respond pretty positively to the Georgetown name.
