i've been waitlisted unfortunately. my question is how long will i have to wait to know??? it could be well into the summer, right? please help me!

well, i'm guessing that you should rely on what you said, late into the summer. most schools don't even look at the waitlist and alot of the TSAO schools have "overfilled" their student quota. i would just try to forget about it because it's kind of like putting false hope into something and being dissapointed in the end...

Call Groton, ask them what the status of the waitlist is. Tell them, if you are offered a position, you will accept it. Show them your interest! Woo them.

hotchkiss, i know that the chances of being accepted off the waitlist is fairly low, but i'm just thinking positive thoughts. shelley i'm a little afraid to call groton and also i don't know if they just give that kind of information away, but thanks for the advice!

Call! look for Olivia from last year who was accepted off the Choate waitlist. It was her persistance that made an acceptance a reality!
The schools want to know that they are your fav.

shelley -- I think it was a bit more than just persistance (although that helped). Olivia also told them that she didn't need an FA to attend, when she had originally applied for FA -- I think that did the trick.

Mail/email them restating your reasons for going to the school, why you want to go and why the school should take you over the other people on the waitlist. Also try and incorporate the school's philosophy into it :O

Well i need some financial aid or Groton isn't an option. Is Groton need-blind this year or other years? I know they have the new program where if you're accepted then you receive full tuition.

when it comes to kids on the waitlist, they may very well take full-pay kids over those who need FA. I would suggest you call and ask them.

There are several schools that are need-blind for admission -- which means that your ability to pay does not effect the decision to admit you. However, that doesn't necessarily carry over to the waitlist.
