My nerves are getting worse and worse as the time gets closer. I keep reading about last year's decisions. I am out of state, but my SAT score is only 1990. I am also in a Community College dual enrollment program in place of high school, but my EC's are little in comparison to many of those on CC. My cumulative GPA at the college is 3.8, which I think is good considering it's harder than high school. Anyone have any tips for not loosing your mind during the waiting period? Anyone hear anything from UCLA, like the follow-up supplemental? If you did, what are your SATs and GPA?

I am sooooo nervous.

Tell me more about “Community College dual enrollment program in place of high school.” It sounds really interesting … enough to make you stand out in the freshman application pool.

If UCLA considers you like a “transfer student,” then I suspect that you will have a better chance of being admitted into the freshman class. You’ve already proven that you can handle college … “cumulative GPA at the college is 3.8.” They might not even take your SAT score (1990) into consideration if you already have a certain amount of college credits.

The dual enrollment program is where I take classes at the community college and the credits I earn go towards both my HS diploma and my associates degree. It’s a really great program. Every quarter-long college class gives me credit for a year of high school. The UCs told me I must apply as a freshman and depending on the transferable credits, I may or may not be in junior standing if I am admitted. I was really hoping this would stand out on my application and make them want to admit me, but I am still very scared because I don’t have many ec’s and I got a C my sophomore year. But my essays were really strong (according to teachers and family who read them), so hopefully that mu dual credits and essays will be enough.
