My daughter was already accepted to Washington State, but her first choice is UW, We’re chewing our nails here waiting to see what color her envelope will be; yellow or white.
Who else is waiting for that day?

Totally feeling the same thing as a senior right now.
do they post the decisions online on their site?
and please chance me i posted a form under university of Washington
@astro9999 They send you a letter via postal mail
really! so they dont put it up on their website?
Does the color of the envelope matter? White or Yellow. I’m here waiting like your daughter!
@phillipiscool123 Yes. Gold means you are accepted. White means you are rejected.
The UW doesn’t post decisions on its portal—all students (except internationals) will receive their decisions through mail. And yes, the color of the envelope does matter haha. You’re going to want to get a yellow one.
Good luck, everyone!
Is it bad that I’m more worried about getting rescinded now…that C+ in calc… :((
Good luck everybody!
“The UW doesn’t post decisions on its portal—all students (except internationals)” Hmm, do they send admission emails on time (15th of March)? Or do I have to wait for a few days?
@Nitric I’m pretty sure that they send the envelopes on the 15th so you have to wait depending on where in the country you are.
Am I the only one wondering how are they going to mail the letters on Mar 15 this year since it’s a Sunday…
That’s where logic comes in. It will either be the 13th or the 16th in that case.
Well they may arrive on the 14th as well…going by that logic…but on their website they said Mar 15 - 30…oh well
Last year the 15th fell on a Saturday and some people in the Seattle area did receive their envelope that day, so it must have been mailed earlier.
I prefer emails actually. But do they the still inform their applicants via emails?
@nitric still? They never have
No emails. Just the envelope.
How do international students view their decisions? Via postal mail or e-mail?
@astro9999
Although UW does not officially post decisions online (unless you are an international student), you MAY be able to find out whether you have been accepted by using the unofficial transcript trick.
Go to MyUW -> Financial Aid Status -> Unofficial Transcript.
If something loads (i.e. student number, year, etc.) then you have most likely been accepted.
An official letter should follow about 2-3 business days after.
Best of luck!
