Waiting on 5

<p>Hey everyone I'm taking a break between homework problems...as i wait until the very vauge mid-march early april notifications i can't help but wonder and would like some opinions on my chances...</p>

<p>I'm Waiting on Brown (deferred ED i sent in my mid year grades All A's n a B and 2 more recs and the mid year...::crosses fingers::) BU, BC, Lehigh, and University of Pennsylvania..i think i may have over shot</p>

<p>Stats:
white male from urban philadelphia large public school
middle class average type family...im the youngest n the first to go to college
I already was accepted into Penn State U. Park and University of Pitt. Most of the top kids in my school get accpeted into Penn, last year 14 applied 12 got in. as for the other two one went to MIT n one went to UConn</p>

Over 150 hrs volunteered at a Philadelphia Museum, The franklin Institute for all my philly neighbors

Led my school and participated in the AIDS and MS WALKS here in philly for 2 years
50ish hours of reconstruction of my parish's convent
Volunteered at a Teen Shelter for young mothers</p>

<p>Although your GPA is high, your SAT is considerably low for UPenn; however, I have heard that UPenn does show favor upon students living in Philadelphia, so that may help you. I'm unsure of the other colleges but just wanted to leave you with my thoughts on UPenn. Good luck!</p>

<p>I'm sure your counselor can share stats of who got accepted in past years. There is a big gap, as I'm sure you know, between your achievement in class and in testing. Not an easy situation.</p>
