Waitlist 2014 Discussion

Hey,

I’m new here so don’t kill me! :)

I was bored studying for AP Bio and was waitlisted at Penn in April. So, I decided to look at the website to see if they updated anything.

I went to the MyPenn Applicant Portal, signed in, and went to My Application Info.

This is what came up:
http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs528.snc3/29993_1378781434431_1378740206_31197769_5568827_n.jpg

(I uploaded it to Facebook images so it’s easy to post here…)

For those of you who don’t want to open it, it says “Deposit: Pending” and “Final Marks: N” under the heading “Post Requirements.”

Do other WL’s have this? Does this mean I’ve been accepted???

Thanks - let me know! :)

I have the same thing, but I’m not getting my hopes up. :P

I have the same thing as well! Haha sorry justinf3, this might be done for everyone…

Yeah I have that too. Havent heard anything regarding the UPenn WL - hope this isnt a sign of the class being full…

yeah I have the same thing and I doubt all of us got off the waitlist

i have that too :stuck_out_tongue: I wouldnt mind us all gettin off the waitlist lol

so does anyone know anybody who got off the waitlist yet?

After I was waitlisted, I contacted a Penn coach letting him know I was waitlisted and would love to attend and that I played the particular sport, etc about three weeks ago. The coach sent a nice email back saying he put in an “inquiry” to admissions.

On Thursday evening (May 6), the coach emailed me and told me he was meeting with admissions on Friday about me. He stated that that Penn was on a later schedule (admission offers could happen in mid-late June), but that they were looking at and could make offers of admission to waitlisted athletes this week.

Pretty sure everyone on the WL has the deposit pending thing.

If they make offers to athletes this week, next week they should start making offers to regular applicants (it would be after mid-may).

yeah everyone must have that, especially if they didnt even start taking athletes yet… Im guessing theyre gonna take the first group off the WL soon though, and probably take more waves as the classes start to fill up… anyone out there have a better idea of how the UPenn waitlist process works? …here comes the paranoia lol

i was put on the waitlist; however, my account is still the same as before. there is no “my application” button for me to click. what do you guys think this means??

^■■■■■

stop messing with our emotions :(

Hahahaha Stupefy :)

i’m not a ■■■■■. i just logged in again and my account has not changed one bit. i’m really worried. because if i click online reply, it still allows me to choose if i want to remain on the waitlist…
i clicked i still want to remain on the waitlist all the way back on april 1
is there something wrong with my account?

@abcabc12345, I think you’re account is fine. My daughter’s account is the same. Note there are two locations from which you can login, My Applicant Portal and the Decision Portal. I think you are logging in via the decision portal as opposed to the applicant location.

My daughter’s account is still active on the decision portal, but not in the applicant location. It could just be a glitch, or the passwords in our case. I would not worry.

yeah the page were talking about is in the applicant portal not the online decisions portal :P

…oh

-walks away ashamed-

got an email from my college counselor about wait list situations (she talked to Penn’s admissions officers), and she said Penn’s class was looking pretty full and they will take very few from the wait-list. and wont start until the end of May

@jokesbg779: Which college of Penn did you apply to? Did your counselor talk to people at the admission office about specific colleges?

jokesbg, I talked directly to my regional admissions officer and was told mid May.
