Has anyone heard of any movement in waitlists yet?

According to a blog posted by one of the schools my son is WL at, they expect to have 50 places open up on Thursday and will make 50 calls on that day.

BTW, the current list is still at 641 still waiting.

Rice and Duke have already started going to their waitlists within the last few days. I’m sure other colleges have too. Some will probably wait until a few days past May 1st.

Really? Can you tell me in more detail? I also got waitlisted at Duke, so this makes me nervous. and how do they let ppl know? by email or by letter?

Ya, I think most schools will call you. Duke started calling a few days ago. I’m sure they would find a way to contact you if you live in a dorm. Don’t worry, if they accept you off the waitlist, they will make sure you know.

Congrats…some may have submitted deposits to their 2nd or safety. I guess the colleges are use to some changing to a waitlist school if they are higher ranked, like the Ivies. I guess you loose the deposit as well.

wntjd168: If you aren’t easily reachable via telephone, don’t sweat it. They’ll contact your school or email you. Really – if you’re chosen, they will track you down. Relax.

Waiting for waitlist news for son. He would be very pleased with an acceptance…but I hope that he will be at peace with his alternative, just in case! He has support from the athletics folk though…so I’m hoping he will get a chance to choose. I’m sure it will be soon one way or the other…Hard to wait for resolution for him. It’s been a long haul.
