I just waitlisted a couple of psych classes I need to take, and I emailed the department right after (but I don't know when they'll reply). I realized after I put myself on the waitlists that I probably didn't do it right. I simply signed up, I didn't go to "swap" to choose the class I wanted to switch out. -_-; Is this bad? I'm enrolled in 15 units already and I don't want to drop the class I would swap because I don't know if I'll get into one of the others. The class is over-enrolled currently, so it might not even get to the point of the waitlist spilling in. Can I fix this, or do I need to be chill and roll with it? I've never done the waitlist before. It's a little daunting.

My suggestion would be to have 15 units no matter what and take the classes you know you need for your major. As for the waitlist part, I would email the professor and see what chances you have or if they will simply let you in the class. You could always email your college adviser for help also!

That video gave me some ideas…hahaha kidding, kidding.

The peer adviser emailed me back and said that I was supposed to click “swap” instead of “enroll” in order to automatically switch classes after getting off the waitlist. But I would have to drop the waitlisted class and re-waitlist it through swapping. I was wary of this, but I dropped 170 (ab psych with Hoffman) and re-added it through swapping. I went from #1 on the waitlist to #20, but there are 23 available spots right now, so it looks like I’m in good shape. I also have 118B waitlisted (#2) without a swap, but I’m leaving it as is. I may go into the lecture because I’m super interested in the class, but I think I’ll be content with 170.
