Anyone else on the waitlist for MATH241H (Calculus III Honors)?

Don’t worry…those waitlists clear pretty quickly…the math department will add additional sections throughout the summer, as well. Keep watching it.

@cyborg, when I registered last year I started 3rd on the waitlist and was in in a couple weeks. I suppose a lot of people have second thoughts?

That’s a class that usually scares enough people away the first time or two that it meets that you won’t have problems getting in! Go ahead and attend class from the beginning if you are still on the waitlist when classes start.

I’m in MATH241 right now, but I think I’ll put myself on the waitlist for 241H as well! Thanks all.

I haven’t had my orientation yet, but I’ve done some browsing on what courses are available and such, and I’ve found out that a lot of the ones that would fulfill a core requirement are booked. I know I am semi-hijacking this thread, but how should one proceed for this whole waitlist process? Should one play it safe and not register for any classes that are booked? Register for classes that are definitely free, but also ones that are waitlisted so that in the event the waitlisted ones open up the other ones can be dropped?

What I did was I signed up for PHYS161 just so I could go over the 12 credit minimum limit. I’m hoping I’ll get into MATH241H, and when I do, I will drop PHYS161 as long as it’s before the Drop/Add period.

TheFatAnorexic - My impression is that they do reserve seats for later orientation dates, and open those seats up the days of the orientations. You should be able to find more seats on the day of your orientation.

does anyone know how M340 and M341 are? like compared to BC?

I got the class! Thanks for the advice!

RicePicker: MATH340 and 341 combine 241, 246, and 240 (Multivariable, DiffEq, Linear Algebra), plus some additional topics into two semesters. I hear it’s a fast-moving class, so if you’re used to in-depth study of material over a long time or if you just don’t like fast-paced classes, I’ve been told to opt out of taking it. Someone on this forum said they really enjoyed MATH241H. I’m planning on taking all three of the aforementioned classes separately, so I can decide later on whether or not I need linear algebra (not required for my engineering major).

congrats! This was really early for you to get the class–I’m sure it is good to know now what your schedule will be.
