I don't know. But just to be safe, I'm putting on call forwarding, so all calls to my house go directly to my cell.

ummm, maybe they, call back?

for Gods sake guys, chill its out of your hands now

this is a prestigious institute of higher learning, not a telemarketing firm. If they want you, and theyre gonna charge you over 40 grand a year, they can at least call back.

the scary part about the NY rep who said spots weren't opening up is that he said that a few days after May 1st... to be exact, he said that on Thursday the 4th. But it's also possible they were still waiting for deposits, as they only had to be postmarked by May 1st... I applied to MSB so he was definitely either referring JUST to that, or to every waitlist... not completely sure.

Since being deferred, I haven't done much... my brother (who graduated 2nd in his class from MSB in 2000) wrote a letter of rec, I sent a letter letting them know it's still my first choice, my headmaster called 2 or 3 times on my behalf, and I recently e-mailed the NY rep man to tell him that I'm salutatorian of my class.... I thought that was a lot until I saw what other people have done, lol. I just want to find out already, this is so nerve-wracking!

Oh also-- the number I put for HOME is my mom's line-- because I only have a cell number. Do you think it's bad if she picks up?

Waitlist limbo - it sucks.

I hope I can get out of it soon.

when are they gonna start to 'gauge' interest

If anyone recieves the coveted call, please do post so in a timely manner...b/c we're itching with anticipation here!

called admissions today... NO ONE is being accepted off the waitlist this time around. they will send out rejections and 'extended waitlist' notifications soon.

Wow. No words.

I honestly don't know what I'll do if they put me on that extended waitlist thing...

anyone get a call today? I didn't...

Let's keep in mind that last year, Georgetown said the same thing about "ABSOLUTELY NOBODY BEING ACCEPTED"... yet, clearly some people were. I find it doubtful that Georgetown made the same mistake as they did in 2004 with overfilling their class size. Even though it appears that more people have accepted Georgetown's offer of admission than expected, I'm still skeptical about not even one person being taken off the waitlist this week. Not even one person? I mean, come on!

they didnt overfill like they did in 2004. this was a really tough year. maybe students double-deposited to be safe, or have more time to decide? you guys can call admissions to check for an update. as i was speaking on the phone, adcom was meeting about 'ranking' the waitlist.

i also asked if considered students would be getting a call this week. she said no... (i guess i wont be waiting for any call anymore.) they said this over the phone, not in a letter. i can understand that the yield was relatively high. the letter you'll get soon will basically say what the deal is.

be patient. if you think georgetown is worth it, you will be. i wish this is a lie too, but everything happens for the best of it.

Don't give up hope for the extended waitlist. Lots of people were waitlisted elsewhere and may get in, thus opening up a spot. That happened with me getting into Duke and thus opening a spot at USC.

It's already the 11th... did anyone get a phone call yesterday or today from admissions? I really just want to find out so I can get excited about my other school if (when) I don't get in, you know?

NO ONE is getting a call, its already been justified by an admissions officer. its time for us to get excited about our other school(s). keep in mind that extended waitlist is still possible!

I'm curious, has anyone else called their admissions officer? I called and was told that he'd be in on Monday...

When I called, I was told that 50 students were taken off the WL.

Did those kids already get a phone call?

I'm not sure if they received a phone call.

oh my 50 were taken off? i feel like whoever i was on the phone with, didnt tell me the truth! agh i guess theres still hope then!
